The Guildhall is rightly famous as an example of gothic architecture and civic pride. As with all good town halls, it celebrates local history and local heroes. The modern addition includes a courtyard where local heroes are represented by sitting or standing statues.

The exterior stone work of the gothic building is really good but the interior is, if anything, even better. However, we could not get to see much due to the doorkeepers telling us that it is a "working building" and so not available at the time that we arrived. It would be good if the council did something to make it more accessible.

A striking building in the middle of the town and worthy of all the praise in reviews. The open air square in the newer part of the building had some interesting statues/sculptures around the benches. Definitely worth a visit.

This place is stunning and centre stage for the town. The building was clad in scaffolding to undertake repair but this has gone revealing the building once more.

If you are close take a look in the courtyard at the lovely statues there depicting people relevant to out local history.

We were privileged to be guided by Kate Wills who told us all about the history of Northampton as it is depicted on the magnificent facade of the Guildhall. Inside we saw the way the present council meetings are held and the gruesome stories of the cells beneath
