Went to the Overstone Manor last Sunday, firstly all the tables were reserved with times written on the cards of several hours away from when we arrived, to get a drink you had to join a queue, you were only informed of this when you got to the bar, so you were made to look foolish in front of the people in the queue who I thought were waiting to order food.
We had the Cavery which was average but I don't expect much for the money, we were gonna have desert but couldn't be bothered to join the ridiculous queue.
The management need to understand that adults would rather not be herded like school children.
I don't mind waiting for a drink but standing in a line like a 10 year old is pathetic.
We went to the Horseshoe in Sywell for desert, their Sunday lunch costs the same and you can even get a drink at the bar.

Went here for Sunday lunch yesterday with family. Was a beautiful sunny day and there were lots of people. The beer garden is lovely and there is a very large kids play area. The pub itself is large and there are plenty of tables but the staff are disgraceful!

When you go to the bar , you have to form an orderly queue so it trailed halfway outside even though the bar area is large. Once we reached the bar we were told ( even before we opened our mouth) "you have to queue the otherside for food and theres a 40 min wait" - Not even a good afternoon or a smile!!

We decided not to wait 40 mins so went for the carvery. Again , queue up ! This went down fairly quickly but once we got there it was like a free for all!! The chefs were like they were working in a prison , slapping a couple of slices of meat on your plate and shoving it at you - Don't think he even looked at me - So rude.

Won't go back again on a busy Sunday.

The Calvert is very hit and miss, sometimes it has been really good but at other times, the meat is tough and the veg dried our and unappetising. The main menu is typical of fare and square and again you can't guarantee every visit is going to be good, we have had some screamers, sent straight back to the kitchen. Lovely old house and countryside setting but they really need to up their game to avoid the saying "all fur coat and no knickers "!!!

Family meal out at this restaurant on a quiet Monday evening whilst on holiday. Waited about 30 minutes for the meals and then one was missing; eventually, after asking twice, the meal was brought out after other meals had been finished. The price of that meal was partially refunded and an apology offered. Food was awful, cold chips, cold and very hard peas, the batter on the fish was rock hard and burnt, completely inedible, and the salad meal had had hot food put on top so was very wilted, not nice. The toilets were absolutely disgusting, can only speak for the ladies but one had no seat, one was completely blocked and all were filthy. Would never visit this pub again or recommend it to anyone.

We visited on Tuesday the 16th of July.

The team were very friendly and obliging, We went for Lunch, and as it was a lovely sunny day we sat out on the patio. After finishing our first round we both ordered food, the 10oz Gammon, one with egg, one with pineapple. On both ordering and on receipt of the meal we were told that they had a no quibble guarantee. Enjoy your food or get your money back. I had the egg, the yolk was a little hard but the whole meal was very tasty so I didn't mind, and the gammon was perfectly cooked.

The only downside was the tornado that hit while we were waiting for our meal. Honestly - not something you expect to see in the Northants countryside. whilst small it was powerful, and lifted up an umbrella which promptly made 3 dents in my car :(

The staff were very upset about it and the manageress said that as the Area Manager was visiting she would see what she could do. Unfortunately we had to leave before she could get back to us.
