Went with 20 colleagues for a celebration dinner. The welcome was good, we had drinks outside and canapés! Staff were attentive, but a little bit too abrupt at times, butting in on conversations and a little slow in providing steak knifes. However, it seems the young waitresses were in training. The menu appeared to have a good mix of seasonal food alongside some old favourites such as fillet steak. The starters were very tasty, salmon fillet with jersey new potatoes and asparagus. The mains as well the starters were very well presented. The homemade desserts were amazing, sylubub
And the chocolate brownie with ice cream was sooooo good! Overall, great food, nice venue, attentive staff, reasonable prices and for a small kitchen food came out beautifully made and still hot. Might use RoadeHouse as an overnight venue as the rooms were only £80 including dinner! Bargain!

I visited the Road House while on a cycling holiday, and they were extremely accommodating, very happy to put me up with somewhere secure to store my bike. I stayed for dinner, bed and breakfast and the food was truly top-class, particularly the starter of pea soup with quail's egg and pancetta, which was the best pea soup I have ever eaten (better even than Sat Bains' Great British Menu-winning ham, egg and peas). The wine was great too, and the full English breakfast was equally tasty. The owners and staff were extremely friendly, and made me feel extremely at home even though I was travelling alone. The accommodation itself was spacious and clean, and very quiet and out-of-the-way. All-in-all, a wonderful night's stay, and I hope to be visiting again before too long.

I was working at the Hotel/Restaurant for a works event which was booked separate from the hotel. On arriving Sue was very welcoming and made sure I knew were I was setting up and were to change etc before the evening started. I believe to be Sue's husband prepared me a wonderful fish dish that was cooked to perfection and tasted divine.

I don't normal give reviews when I haven't stayed in a hotel but due to the hospitality and the quality of food I felt this was a necessary review.

Thanks again

Another fabulous night of food, drink and great company. The menu was absolutely delicious from entrée to the night cap - the accompanying wines perfectly matched. The service faultless as ever. Unfortunately, I had to leave so early I missed the RH full English with Haggis, but my partner said she thought breakfast was as usual unbeatable. Hats off to Sue and Chris and all the staff - again!

My first time here and have to say it is a very nice venue, the staff were very helpful and well mannered. The choice on the menu was also well varied along with a fine selection of wines. Ultimately the food was delicious. Should I be in the area again this restaurant will be first on my list.

I visited The Roade House this week for lunch with three girlfriends and as always we had a fantastic meal.

The hotel is always warm and inviting, as are the staff. The food is delicious and well presented. We are never rushed or left for too long. Service is attentive and yet discrete. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Had my 50th birthday party here on a Saturday, lunch for 16 family and friends with the afternoon in the conservatory with birthday cake/tea and coffee, followed by dinner, a good nights sleep and a fab breakfast.
The birthday lunch menu was based on the October menu with a couple of changes (things we'd had on previous visits) with much input from Chris and went down well with all.
It was hugely successful and this was in no small part due to the Kewleys themselves - not to mention the sterling work undertaken by their staff. We'll be returning very soon indeed - Winter dinner in a week or two, followed by the Christmas Jazz lunch and Burns Night.
Cannot speak highly enough of the quality food, value for money and lovely friendly atmosphere.
