“Good night sleep policy”

My wife and I arrived at the Premier inn around 7pm after a very long day at Santa Pod race way and headed straight to the eatery to satisfy the hunger pains. The menu on the whole caters for all and the portions are idea. Very rare to find an atmosphere within these chain of pubs/eateries however the staff are friendly, the food is hot and the beverages are cold. Shortly after the meal we headed to the Inn to be meet by a pleasant receptionist who completed the formals and we headed off to the room. Not long after settling down and into bed we had the unfortunate arrival of a very heavy footed guest on the floor above (at 9.30) and by 10pm when had woken the wife I was forced to call the reception to raise a complaint - which I believe was quickly dealt with as it all went silent. Just a note - we had no phone in the room and had to use our own mobile to call the reception which is printed on a card. Unfortunately once again at 7.15 until 8.15 on Sunday morning the heavy footed occupant above woke both my wife and I ensuring we didn't get the guaranteed night sleep the premier inn policy promises. On arrival at reception upon check out unfortunately we had to raise the fact we had been worked once again and the receptionist (different to check in) advised us that in future we should book a top floor room to avoid the repeated noise from occupants above. And shortly after without any prompting offered to honour the company policy good night sleep guarantee by offering the money back for the room we had just stayed in.
In all we cannot complain about the premier inn, rooms are clean and tidy, bedding is clean as are the choice of pillows. Kettle and the a compliments are in place to make a hot drink as and when required. The bathroom is clean with fresh towels and the over all cleanliness would meet any high standards. So over all the premier offers what it says on the tin, very happy they offered to honour the sleep policy, would stay here again but on the top floor but after frequent stays at the premier inn in great billing would rather go to great billing as first choice ( great billing was fully booked on this occasion) just note the wootton premier inn is located on the main road A45 in Northampton and some rooms do face the main road so I would advise a room selection in the annex.

Room Tip: Avoid main road rooms and opt for the annex- and top floor if you want to avoid heavy footed occupan...

You are correct to request an upstairs room in future, in order to avoid our very old building's noisey floorboards. Playpark, excellent kids menu, friendly staff. Made our trip enjoyable. Excellent staff. Huge family rooms. Comfy beds. Free travel cot provided with bedding. Easy parking. Central location handy for all areas

We could not fault this hotel. Arrived late and were greeted by a lovely gentleman called Freddie. He sorted out a heater for us which we didn't need when he also explained how we used the heating!! Very comfortable room, clean and tidy. Couldn't ask for more for the price. Will definitely stay again

I cant fault this hotel, room was very clean, good nights sleep and continental breakfast excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. We arrived at 2 in the morning and this was no problem. I have stayed with colleagues at this hotel on three other occasions and on all the occasions have been satisfied. This is now our hotel of choice for staying in Northampton.

Having stayed there on many occasions I have never had a bad stay everyone is so friendly and the staff in all departments make you welcome
It is also a great location just off the motor way at junction 15 and handy for Northampton

We have stayed at many Premier Inns and Northampton South ranks up there with the best. The staff are excellent and the hotel is kept spotlessly clean. For a budget Inn this hotel offers good value for money.

Hadn't stayed in a Premier Inn before but was hopeful it would live up to it's advertising.
Realised room would be standard-expectations were for clean, comfortable room.
Made the booking online and the price was good; £68 for two of us for 2 nights-room only.
We arrived Friday evening to a friendly welcome at reception.

Room:
The room was clean and presentable. There were minimum tea making facilities. We asked for a couple of extra pillows and these were issued no problem.

Food:
Decided to go for a meal in their own restaurant (adjoining pub) and that's when we were hugely disappointed. My husband and I,my sister and her partner all ordered Chicken New Yorker. 2 of the meals came out quite quickly, obviously re heated chicken and although that's not a problem if heated thoroughly, the chicken on both plates was barely luke warm! We pointed this out to a waitress who was apologetic and said she would ask for 2 new 'fresh' meals. 2 new meals came about 5 minutes later, this time were hotter. However the other 2 meals took about 15 minutes to arrive, not really ideal as we wanted to eat together. Our partners being gentlemen had insisted the ladies eat first which again meant we didn't eat with our respective partners. A waitress came again after the meals were eventually served and asked if everything was ok and apologised. Meal was ok, nothing to shout about, chicken breast with cheese and bacon, marrowfat peas, bit dry and hard, chips which were not up to much. We were hungry so made the best of it.
Decided in the morning to try the breakfast as the menu looked good and we figured if the cooking was 'en masse' the meal might be ok.
The 'continental' was £5-this included fresh fruit, selection of cereals, dried fruit and seeds. Mini croissants (bit hard!) mini muffins (one choice only), orange or apple juice, tea/coffee, white/brown bread (toaster), honey, marmite, (no marmalade-ran out), plain or fruit flavoured yoghurts.
Cooked (Premier £8.25): bacon, sausage, hash browns, mushrooms, choice of eggs (scrambled, poached, fried), beans, tomatoes (fresh not tinned)-you could have how much of each item you wanted.
We were told to help ourselves to as much as we wanted from the breakfast buffet and orders would be taken for the cooked breakfast. It was odd as the waitresses kept taking things away from the table, had to ask for a teabag, there was only one croissant and 2 muffins on the table! On the first morning we figured it was because we were a bit late coming down to breakfast and they might be starting to clear away, but I think it must be so people don't literally eat as much as they want to (On the second morning the dining room was packed but it was just the same (at an earlier time)
3 of us had a cooked breakfast so only wanted juice and cereal but my husband had the 'continental' and had to ask for a teabag, apple juice, croissant and milk! Items were brought out but quickly whisked away! There were no cups and one cereal bowl had dried cereal stuck to it!

To summarise however: wouldn't eat the evening meal in the restaurant again but breakfast (when you could access some of the items!) was very nice. The cooked food was piping hot and enjoyable except for the sausages, bit cheap and nasty!

Overall opinion:
Great comfy bed (as advertised!)
Nice clean, warm, cosy room
Good shower (bath and shower in room which was nice)
Lighting was a bit poor (for main room)
No noise in the hotel at all at night
Breakfast, especially cooked, good
Evening meal-extremely poor quality
Service - good; staff friendly and pleasant

Would use this Premier Inn again but would definitely not use their restaurant for evening meal-would however eat breakfast there.
