Stayed here 22nd to 24th April as a base for stratford, oxford and cambridge trips. This is a lovely clean and well run hotel with a small efficient team running it. We were made to feel at ease and left alone to come and go as you pleased. If you needed anything the staff dealt with you straight away. The only thing I would point out is the price of drinks at the bar, but as there is a Harvester across the car park ... problem solved.

We found this Holiday Inn Express to be one of the best we have stayed in and provded exceptional value for money. The hotel looked pristine and the staff were all very friendly especially Claud. A smile makes all the difference when dealing with a small problem! The room was warm, spotlesst and the bed very comfortable The breakfast was good in very pleasant, well laid out surroundings . We had an excellent evening meal across the car park at the pub which was very good. Will recommend this as a great stop over.

Stopped at this Hotel to break the journey up when heading down South. The Hotel was quite basic but clean. Callum on Reception was excellent and couldnt do enough and nothing was too much effort. When the heating did'nt work and it was around minus 5 he fetched us two convector heaters which soon heated the room up. The breakfast was acceptable, but very basic and not a great choice, but it served our purpose.

This hotel provides everything you need at a decent price.

It is a budget hotel, but it does it very well and the staff there are extremeley friendly and helpful - which makes a huge difference (especially compared to competitor hotels in Northampton).

I stayed here and could not get to sleep due to the air conditioning units being outside my window. It was a warm night and I had to keep the windo closed, just as well though as my room was directly above teh waste compound. I got an early morning call via someone emptying the bottle skip and I arrived at my Leicester 9am meeting at 7-30!!!!
I would never stop again, when I complained I never even recieved a letter from the General Manager that the Priority Club said I would.

Dear Guest

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I do apologise on this occasion that your sleep was disturbed whilst you were staying with us.

We will use your comments to provide further training for our team about the times that jobs are carried out by the team.

All of our rooms are now fitted with air conditioning units that unfortunately do require outside units to power them. If staying at the hotel on a future date one of our Guest Service team will be happy to provide you with a room at the front of the hotel.

Your feedback is much appreciated and we will use it to improve the service we provide.

Yours sincerely

We booked two rooms at the hotel via the Holiday Inn Express website about 3 weeks before our stay and received a confirmation email saying that we had booked 2 rooms with 2 adults in each room.
About three days before our arrival we received another confirmation email saying the we had booked one single room for one adult! My husband contacted the hotel directly and said they said that was all we had booked, even though my husband had the original confirmation! They managed to book us into two twin rooms.
When we arrived at the hotel check-in was pretty smooth, even though we wanted double rooms rather than the twins but the hotel was full so we were just glad that we had a room at all!
We were in non-smoking rooms on the second floor. The corridor from the lift to the room smelt really badly of smoke for our entire stay.
The rooms were both very clean and had everything you would need for your stay. if you had forgotten anything you could contact reception and they would do their best to help you out.
There was also a bar downstairs which served food and late night pizza. There is also a Harvester across the car park.
Breakfast was a bit of a shambles. The breakfast staff were very rude and slow. When the plates ran out you received a look as if it was your fault as they stomped off to get some more! The toasters were painfully slow, they took about 10 mins to work and the orange juice tasted very watered down.
To be honest we only stayed here because the hotel we usually stay at was fully booked and we were very disappointed with our stay after having such a good one at the Express at Walsall.
It does, however, have good access to the M1 and Northampton.
