“Good Value for money”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

Stayed here on a visit to Silverstone, Only 15 minutes away. Rooms were very clean but a bit sparse. Dinner in evening in main restaurant was very good as was breakfast. For an overnight stay could not fault it but would not want to stay any longer.

Stayed for 3 days March 2013 under a Hilton offer. Liked heater in room better than air con. However bathroom very cold. Windows very draughty need replacing. Restaurant & hotel in general cold, very cold outside and had air con on cool in hotel! Breakfasts not as good as Marriott, better when more guests as get turnover of food. Pool cold. Not anything to do near hotel. Beds creaky a bit past it. Lighting in room awful can't read in bed, all very dull. Drinks expensive hot chocolate & coffee was £9.50. Limited menu in restaurant too cold to eat in there as not enclosed and forms part of open plan of lobby. Staff did job but not very friendly, not unfriendly but just didn't interact very much. If go at this time of year take hot water bottle. Doors slam shut no silent door closures so every morning or night the doors are slamming shut, very noisy. Was okay under offer we went on, but wouldn't dream of paying full price. If had to do full price would go to the Marriott. Hotel were very good at assisting us moving our date which was much appreciated. Room was a bit tired looking but was very big and enough furniture in it such as a settee, however this had some dubious stains on it. Think the hotel would suit disabled people quite well due to most of it being on ground floor.

Room Tip: Rooms that face the courtyard are possibly the quietest. Some rooms have meeting rooms next to them...

Dear Guest

Thank you for taking the time to fill out our on-line customer service feedback, regarding your recent stay here at the Hilton Hotel Northampton.

Feedback such as yours helps us to monitor and improve the services we offer within the hotel, thus helping us to maintain the high level of customer service we aim to achieve.

We do have a Maintenance programme in place to improve the decor, furniture and facilities around the hotel which includes a new heating system. Whilst we are awaiting the sigh off for the new heating system our Maintenance Manager has addressed the issue with the control panel hopefully avoiding the temperature dropping below a comfortable standard in the future.

We aim to make every guest feel cared for and respected so a course re-training will be given to all staff, to ensure that they engage with our guests giving them the highest level of service we aim to achieve.

Thank you once again for your feedback and I hope that you will give us the opportunity to show you our usual high level of service and standards in the future.

Kind regards

Stayed overnight, was upgraded to executive suite, clean, neat and tidy. Unfortunately breakfast was a let down by Hilton standards. Plenty of staff on duty, who were clearing the tables promptly, but replenishment of items to have was rather slow, having to ask for more bananas and milk for cereal, as none of the staff seemed to realise that the containers were empty. I was waiting quite a while for the milk to come from the kitchen. Hot cooked food was only warm (not hot) when brought out, although it did not seem far to travel from kitchen to hotplate. Thought this was quite poor for Hilton standard.

Dear Guest

Thank you for taking the time to write a review after your recent stay here at the Hilton Hotel Northampton.

We very much appreciate all the guest feedback we receive as this enables us to view the hotel from a guest prospective.

The Food and Beverage Manager and the Head Chef are most disappointed to learn that your breakfast experience was less than satisfying, and would like to convey their apologies. A course of re-training has been arranged with the Team Members on duty that morning to ensure that we provide our guests with the full range of breakfast items throughout service and that they are served at the optimum temperature.

Once again, please accept my apologies and I hope that you will give us the opportunity to show you our usual high level of service and standards in the future.

Kind regards

Front office staff are a credit to the hotel (Dan and Dean) but after that it falls down. £9.50 for a plain ham sandwich for my 4 year old!! Ouch! Housekeeping staff that dont speak english....Rooms need a little tlc and the pool needs more.

If I was staying at a luxury hotel I wouldnt mind paying luxury prices but this is far from a luxury hotel!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, regarding your recent stay here at the Hilton Hotel Northampton.

Feedback such as yours helps us to monitor and improve the services we offer within the hotel, thus helping us to maintain the high level of customer service we aim to achieve.

I am sorry that you found the Housekeeper less than helpful. This has clearly identified a training issue within the Housekeeping Team, so I have requested the Head Housekeeper to address this by providing extra training to ensure that all Housekeepers are able to converse with our guests.

I have noted your observations regarding the Food & Beverage Prices. These are reviewed at regular intervals throughout the year and I will certainly ask the General Manager to take this into consideration when the next price reviews are due. I can confirm however that children aged 10 and under dining alongside a staying guest eat free when ordering from our children’s menu. If the adults are not eating in house then the children’s menu is still available but at a charge.

We do have a maintenance programme in place to improve the hotel and its facilities. We have started to update the Livingwell Health Club by recently replacing the sauna and the hairdryers in the changing rooms. The Maintenance Team also have a number of projects which are in the early planning stages.

Thank you for your kind words regarding the Front Office Staff. Your comments have been passed to the Front Desk Manager so that Dan and Dean can be recognised for the wonderful service they provided.

Once again, please accept my apologies and I hope that you will give us the opportunity to show you our usual high level of service and standards in the future.

Upgraded room was good, clean and adequate. Service from reception OK didn't get the usual wine in room as no exec lounge at this hotel, but did get a drinks voucher when challenged re this issue.
Breakfast was chaotic to say the least- hot food was just tepid, even when freshly brought out from the kitchen. Had to ask for milk, bananas etc and I would expect these items to be replenished on a regular basis. The chairs in the dinning room were disgustingly dirty and stained, come on Hilton, get your act together- these resembled a 1 star if that.
The quality of the room far superseded that of the breakfast experience. We only paid £50 for 1 night, so on that basis it was OK, but would not have been happy if paying full price

It didn't start very well we called the hotel as we have a 4 month old baby and 2 year old could we please possibly check in 30 minutes early and explained we have 2 small babies but were told no quite abruptly about 3 times!!! Now 30 minutes is neither here or there so outbid fear we just drove around Northampton with he babies in he car angst got there at 2:45 and were given the room straight away! I believe the lady on the phone was called Rachel?
She could have said you can come in and we will see what we can do instead if saying no 3 times!! Especially after we explained we had babies!

2nd complaints we were given room 273 which was up the stairs and right at the end I think the hotel should have been more thoughtful and given us lower floor and a room nearer to reception etc

Apart from this two issues I found the hotel very clean nice and staff were brilliant

The swimming pool area and staff were really nice

Breakfast was good as well but not spectacular!

Overall it's good value for money!! Clean tidy but restaurant prices did put us off eating there so we went out
