Description: A traditional pub steeped in history that offers a unique food and dining experience in the heart of a bustling town centre. With 13 rotating guest ales and ciders, 100 plus whisky's and rare spirits, bottled global beers, draught lagers & Belgian beers we have something different to appeal to your palate. Our chefs produce regularly changing menus tailored to showcase the finest seasonal produce. All our recipes are produced on site using ingredients sourced from numerous local suppliers. As a proud supporter of the Northampton Saints we regularly show all Rugby games throughout the season on our many screens. The Wig and Pen is also proud to offer a diverse range of live music every week of the year. CAMRA (campaign for real ale) accredited & we were voted Northamptonshire's pub of the season by CAMRA for Spring 2012 because of our excellent selection of quality local and national real ales.

Tuesday lunch for four really enjoyable. Menu is more interesting than the standard pub grub offerings and the quality was definitely higher too. Nice traditional interior with a great range of real ales and even a couple of top quality choices for a lager drinker (bittburger + others). It was the busiest pub in the town on tuesday night but thats not saying much (about 25 people). Staff were delightful. Would recommend this pub for eating and drinking.

Busy pub so get in early. Great music! Cosy seating outside once the heaters were turned on! Bar then gets empty about midnight.

Great little pub in the centre of town, the menu is full of things you'll want to try and i'll be shocked if you're disappointed with value for money. The atmosphere, whether a night out or a quick bite at lunchtime is wonderful, entertainment is on pretty much all the time and never fails to impress.
Quaint pub setting inside, seats aren’t that comfortable if you're in it for the long haul and the out door area is very welcoming.
I would give this place 5/5 if it wasn’t for the staff and not all the staff, there are some really friendly faces behind the bar but the manageress seems to have a bee in her bonnet, its like she really resents being there, you'd think she'd have a smile on her face with a successful business. Shame!

We came to this restuarant on a wednesday with high expectation as it always looked busy and heard it was a steak night with a great deal so thought we would give it ago well i had the mussels and clams with a ribeye steak well the mussels were gritty and the shells were the only thing i could taste the clams I couldnt even say I had I was going to raise the awareness of staff but they were ignorant and rude I felt so uncomfortable the steak was okay but had better elsewhere the sauce to go with it was not even what i ordered it felt like just mushrooms thrown together into a jug my partner had a burger which i must say was quite fatty it was a really disappointing evening one I will not be making again.
