Overnight stay while visiting Northampton and Oxford. Jane and Charles were charming, friendly hosts. Our room was lovely with a 6ft very comfortable bed, immaculately clean (as was the ensuite), with a great shower, soft fluffy towels, nice toiletries, plenty of selection on the tea/coffee tray (including fresh milk), homemade biscuits (mmmmm), free wifi, even little unexpected touches like cotton wool in the bathroom.
Breakfast was wonderful - sublime fresh poached eggs, home-made bread, all just delicious (and the egg cutter thingy was a highlight - we're now searching kitchen shops for a similar instrument of torture!!!). Jane and Charles were very happy to chat and provide suggestions for places to visit, and visiting here made our little trip very special - we'll very happily be back when we're in the area!

We recently spent the weekend with another couple at the Shepherds Row. We were visiting the area due to our football team playing at nearby Northampton. We really picked the Shepherds Row because of its village location and the excellent reviews on this site. To quickly summarize all the reviews are justified, Shepherds Row is a first class Guest House.
Firstly the hosts (Charles and Jane) are great hosts, very welcoming, informative and entertaining. Secondly the accommodation, the two double en suite bedrooms that we booked were perfect. The bedrooms were comfortable, clean and with a great shower. Thirdly the breakfast, again no complaints in fact full points. Cereal or fresh fruit to start with and a choice of main courses. I can strongly recommend the full breakfast, always a treat when you are away for a few days. I would also like to mention West Haddon. A lovely village, everyone we met was very friendly and entertaining.
That’s the good points and now the bad points, there are no bad points whatsoever. I can strongly recommend Shepherds Row, excellent place to spend a few days or maybe longer. We will certainly return next time our football team is playing in the area.

What a lovely place to stay!
Charles and Jane welcomed us with tea and homemade biscuits after a long journey. The room was lovely, we could have stayed all day cuddling our breakfasts...! Beautiful place to stay, we stayed here close to Kelmarsh Hall for History Live and Charles recommended places to eat which were super. We will return, many thanks to Charles and Jane, fellow am dramers!

We arrived on Sunday and were made very welcome. Our room was lovely and very clean. My husband wasn't very well and we stayed in the room for the day and weren't made to feel as if we shouldn't be there. We had a lovely restful break - which we needed. We have a friend in Rugby who we were able to spend some time with. We even managed to fit an extra day onto our stay with no problems. Popped across to Stratford-upon-Avon for a day (when we stay again we will try a find a scenic route across there rather than the motorways). Looking forward to going back.

As the title says this was our second visit to the lovely Shepherds Row.On arrival meeting Jane,Charles and Alice was like seeing family again,so friendly and welcoming. We were given the same room and the standards were as usual 5 Star, and the lovely homemade biscuits were just what was needed. Our reason for staying was the Spitfire Proms, again the kindness of the owners was amazing in taking us (with chairs food, wine etc) to the venue and taking us back to Shepherds Row after the Event, also to be invited for a nightcap on the patio when we got back was so kind and shows what lovely people jane,Charles and Alice are.I could write alot more for this review but as I wrote on my first review Shepherds Row is "Just Perfect".
Thanks again,We will be back.
Lisa and Richard.

This delightful B&B is easily a hotel standard establishment, with the range of large fluffy towels and all the 'bits' you find in a good hotel. Jane and Charles were very attentive and apologetic about the flood which was out of their control! We didn't even notice the mats in the dining room until Charles pointed them out! We had the annex/family room, which was very spacious with a mini fridge, dining table and was well appointed. This establishment is highly recommended.

Room Tip: If available ask for the annex.

Excellent stay, despite the B&B being flooded out and my classic car nearly being submerged. Charles was a brilliant host and was more concerned about my car than his house......the must have a breakfast are Charles's poached eggs!

Thank you for leaving such a lovely review despite such trying circumstances. It was an eventful weekend but the good news is that we're well on the way to being cleared up and Shepherds Row is trading as usual - minus a dining room carpet for a few days.
