We wanted a single night near Northampton, and the Westone Manor came up with a very attractive price for two on LateRooms.com which included full breakfast.
I can confirm comments from other reviewers, namely that the location is somewhat odd, an old manor house in the middle of a (perfectly pleasant) housing estate, and you don't actually see the attractive frontage of the old house unless you walk round into the garden. Our room was in a more modern part. It was OK. The decor was a little tired, but all was serviceable, it was warm and quiet (not that there appeared to be many other people staying on this January Saturday night. The bed was comfortable. Reception was polite and friendly. There was free room wi-fi, although I did not try it.
Two minor criticisms - the sound from the (flatscreen) TV was very 'tinny', worse than the poor quality you expect anywayfrom a flatscreen TV. One of the nylon butterfly nuts holding down the toilet seat had stripped its thread, and so the seat was wobbly. That must have been obvious to anyone cleaning the room, but it had not been put right.
Breakfast was in the very pleasant dining room facing onto the garden. Service was excellent, and the food was good.
At the right price, we'd certainly go back.
