Stayed here with the family ages ranging from 18 months to 88 years. All of us loved the cottage even the wonky stairs and low ceilings . Has been beautifully renovated and furnished. It was lovely to come back to after our trips out.
We didn’t use the car at all during our stay because everything is on your doorstep. Either ate out or bought from the Sainsbury Local not far away. Stroll through the gardens opposite and you’re in the centre. Stroll to the bottom of the road and you have the river. We did a lot of the touristy stuff but highlight definitely the National Railway Museum.
Louise is extremely flexible and helpful. I have no hesitation in recommending the cottage.
Could not fault anything in this beautiful property. We celebrated a special birthday party and it felt very special in this lovely home.Have stayed in York before in self catering but the quality and special little touches such as welcome basket etc far exceeded otherproperties. Thanks Louise for making our stay a holiday to remember
WOW !!! Beautiful home we rented it for a brother & sister family vacation the moment you walk in you feel right at home, very well equipped, the beds and bedding are extremely comfortable. The location is perfect you walk across the street through the Museum Gardens and you are in the center of York. Hope one day to visit York with our grandkids, and would defiantly stay here again. Thank You Louise and Tim for sharing your cottage with us.

Could not have picked a better place for our family to gather before my sister's wedding. Stayed as a group of 3 couples plus 3 kids (2, 9, 12) and the accommodation suited us really well - the bunk bed room downstairs was secure enough and the twin room upstairs we cheekily rearranged to provide another double. The style of the accommodation provided a great location for the bride to get ready and photos taken, the view out the window to the public gardens is a super bonus, the parking was very close by. Good communication with our host made it easy for us. York is definitely worth a visit including the national railway museum nearby. Would definitely return for a similar gathering if the opportunity arose.
We recently stayed in this cottage for a week and it was perfect for our needs. Centrally located but relatively quiet, it's a great find.
The interior is incredibly charming with all the modern amenities one needs for a home away from home. And, it was spotless, too! Louise was great with communication and we very much appreciated the welcome basket after a long journey. The gardens across from the cottage were beautiful and offered a lovely walk to the center of town.
Thank you, Louise, for everything! We very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely place and can't wait to return.
This is a lovely well presented house and very close to city centre.
Six of us stayed here for 3 nights and we all agreed that not only was the house perfect but that the location was perfect too. A great find and a very helpful Owner.
Had a lovely week in cold February but it was so good to come back to our cosy cottage and relax home from home. Gorgeous kitchen, spacious rooms , easy walking distance to city. Didn’t even use the car, we all enjoyed our stay, would recommend to families of all ages. Mine are under 10 and loved their own room and TV.
