We dined at Delrio's as a group of four for a celebration. We had three courses each and each one was delightful, the soup was outrageously delicious, the mains were full of flavour, rich yet fresh, and the desserts were beautiful. It is worth visiting Delrio's for the restaurant building itself, it is so beautifully lit and full of atmosphere, you could be in Italy. Go!

I won't bore you with all the details but to say the owners of this restaurant are so arrogant they probably don't even read these reviews. We had a small problem over wrong sauces on wrong dishes. No big deal....you would think. Oh no, the woman owner rammed it down my throat several times that they had been here for 24 years and they don't make mistakes. This was going to be at least a £200 bill between us but Mrs Stalin didn't even care about that, lump it or leave it we were told in no uncertain terms so we left it. The cost of our rejected meals must have been no more than £5 to them, Chicken/ pasta/ veg but with their "the customer is always wrong" policy in place they hadn't the brains to bin it and just supply the sauce we asked for on the chicken pasta., that simple. (the waitress probably wrote it down wrong)?

Instead we were embarrased in front of other diners when the chef shouts across from the kitchen we are wrong. I told Mrs stalin that a chef would say that if a mistake was made, oh dear, 'That's my husband, you are now calling him a liar she said!' Didn't she realise they were calling us liars, the CUSTOMERS! All over some damned sauce. By the way he said I got the taste wrong between a white wine sauce and a GORGONZOLA cheese sauce, I ask you, I can smell the strong cheese let alone taste it.

It was a case of like it or lump it or not at all, we rejected the meals and paid for the starter and over priced wine at £24 bottle it should have tasted better than Aldis £4 bottles, but it didn't.

They just ruined our night with their arrogant manner, avoid this place at all costs, they don't care a damn about customers, they thrive on tourist money. If you do go remember they are always correct and you are wrong, they've been there 24 years you know.

This restaurant has a genuine Italian feel and the food is excellent. It is a pleasure to watch the chefs in the open kitchen preparing each dish individually to order; this clearly leads to the superb quality. The menu was extensive and daily specials add to the choice. From this chalkboard the baby squid in rich sauce was excellent, as was the tagliatelli with porcini and truffle oil. Other high lights were some excellent fish dishes and home made desserts. The cost was very reasonable and the welcome friendly and professional. I would certainly return and can recommend Delrio's highly.

We are a family of five and we dined at 6:30 on a Friday and the place was already really busy (in a good way) and we had a lovely large table and were attended to quickly, and efficiently by a very friendly waitress.

Food was superb, the atmosphere was great - what more could you ask for? My wife and I had the special (Sole) which was superb, and the children all ate all their food too
