We went at lunch time as Melton's had been strongly recommended to us and neither Moby nor I have big appetites in the evening so probably couldn't do it justice. Our starter of fondant parsnips with chestnuts was artistically presented and delicious, and our main course of smoked haddock with crab cake on a bed of leek and crushedpotato equally so. The wine recommedation matched the food perfectly and because the portions were so generous we were unable to manage a pud so shared a delicious platter of 5 Yorkshire cheeses, the standout for me being the Huddersfield brie. We have some good restaurants here in Bath, but if we have anything to match the flair of Melton's, I've yet to eat there. Outstanding.
