We stayed for two days over the spring babk holiday with our two boys 5 & 7. The Famiy room was great with a small room separated off the parents room by a door with enough rool for two single beds.(Both rooms had TVs) Rooms were very good with nice en-suite shower room. Mick and Mandy were very helpful. Breakfast was great with Cereal & Fresh Fruit plus cooked breakfast or continental. They even gave my wife ham and cheese with her croissants one day when she asked for it (this is tradditional from where she comes from in Europe.)
Location is great just over 10 mins walk even with young children to York City and the railway museum. All in all a lovely Guest House and great location.

Wonderful guesthouse, excellent service and delicious traditional english breakfast. It is located close to major attractions in York. The rooms are very well furnished and clean. Worth the value! I recommend it.

After scouring the internet for a quality Guest House in York, we booked the Bronte for a 2 night stay over the Easter weekend. What we got was far above expectations, the host on arrival was friendly, ensured we had a map of all the tourist areas all marked up, sorted out a car pass for free parking opposite and gave our room keys.
The room we were in (No.3) was well appointed with a lovely new en suite bathroom with double walk in shower. The comfort of a bed away from home is always a priority and we weren't let down, the bedding was also of a quality not experienced in many a Guest house we have stayed in, including several types of pillow and quality towels. The tea, coffee and milk in the room was not rationed to a drink each as in some and there was a floor fan for those hot days and a flat panel TV with digital channels. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and the produce obviously sourced for its quality.
The Guest house is situated on a one way street which is very quiet, and only a 10 minute stroll to the City Centre or railway museum and makes a nice walk. We will be returning again as I do not believe for a convenient City break Guest House the Bronte can be beaten.

Stayed just the 1 night in York and this was the perfect place to explore from. A close walk to the wall and a 5-10 min walk to centre of town. Great staff, huge full English breakup, and free parking out the front - they give you a permit. Wonderful night.

I have no hesitation in recommending this bed and breakfast to anyone wanting a clean quiet and professional experience in York. We booked via the tourist info office as I specifically wanted a Bed and Breakfast in a quiet location with a good comfortable bed. I got both at the Bronte Guest House. Upon arrival we were shown to our room and allowed to settle in. Our questions were answered and we were given all the information we needed in an efficient and friendly way.
Room one is beautifully decorated in a way fitting a top rate hotel room. The bed was superb. We both slept like babies!
Our breakfast service was top rate - the young man who was serving was intelligent and helpful in his service. He would not have been out of place in a silver service top establishment!! The food was freshly prepared and served to our specifications and was enough in quantity to satisfy my hungry husband!
An excellent choice for a stay in York - a 5 minute walk from the minster (10 mins from the railway station).
First class!

delightfull guesthouse, we stayed a week before half term, my partner, his daughter, (11Yrs) and her freind, great location, only five mins away from shops, resteraunts and york minster, even though the girls wanted to get a taxi! beautiful outlook from the family room over park and to minster. family room was good size in all, girls room was compact but great for them to feel they could shut the door on the adults! breakfast was excellent, fabulous choice...all in alll felt very welcome, very clean and well presented. I'm sure we'll be back again.
