We had a lovely trip to York thanks in part to this lovely guesthouse. Well located, friendly hosts, parking permits issued, lovely clean ensuite bedroom, nice full-English breakfast, good value (voucher - £99 for two nights). Recommended!

Stayed in this guest house weekend 25-27 October. Brilliant location approx 5 minutes from City walls. Small compact double room but the service and cleanliness was excellent. Phil and his wife were very friendly and more than helpful. Would definitely return. Excellent value for money. Thank you.

Excellent location, less than 5 mins walk to the city walls. Very friendly and pleasant staff. Rooms compact and clean. Free parking very good. Well priced and recommended for long weekends etc.
Plenty of bars and restaurants available even before you reach the city walls.

We are seasoned visitors to York & therefore we knew what we were looking for. One thing you need to factor in is parking charges which are very expensive, so therefore to find somewhere within a 10 minute walk of the city centre that had free parking is superb. The Queen Anne is in a quiet side street in a row of traditional, well kept terraced houses. The owner Phil is an excellent host with a friendly, laid back manner. Our room was compact but very clean & adequate for a short stay. Breakfast is traditional & served promptly. Overall it was a totally hassle free & pleasant stay. Good value for money.

We have just got back from a 3 night break from this lovely guest house, in a quiet street. 5 minutes walk from the train station and York centre. There is parking outside on the road which the proprietor issues you with a permit. Our room was nice and clean with ensuite, lovely comfy bed and towels and room cleaned every day. Breakfast was in the other part of the house next door, in a lovely dining room, freshly cooked with cereals, toast, juice, tea/coffee, sets you up for the day. Would recommend this guest house for a comfortable stay, close to everything in York without moving your car. Would definitely stay here again.

I was in York on my own so needed a single room close to City centre and this guest house was fine just 10 minutes walk from Cathedral and about 10 minutes to river and over the bridge to the Station. My room was small with washbasin and acros the landing to toilet and excellent bathroom with great shower. Room was clean and bedlinen & towels just fine. It is clear that the guest house has recently been refurbished and breakfast room excellent. Breakfast okay and a bit limited and service on Sunday morning very slow but not complaining. So highly recommended for a short stay if you need to count the pennies.

We stayed for two nights. There were four in our party and we ended up split up between the two houses becauses we all wanted rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Our room was extremely clean and looked as if it had recently been redone. It was within walking distance of the train station and the historic center of York so we walked everywhere. Breakfast was the traditional English breakfast with beans, tomato, bacon, sausage and eggs. Nothing fancy, but filling. Cereal was also available along with plenty of coffe or tea. The price was great. I would definitely recommend this place and stay there again. It's not high end, but extremely nice rooms and nice hosts - not too intrusive, but friendly and helpful.
