We have visited 5 times now, each visit seems to get even better!

We always are met at the door by happy staff, sat down down, drinks and prawn crackers follow quickly.

The banquet is fantastic and for a small amount more you can add your favourite dishes/meats etc.

We will be visiting again soon and really recommend you give it a try, a great venue, friendly staff, superb food and at a sensible price.

After looking through the reviews of restaurants in and around York we saw that The Mulan was rated one of the best in York, so we thought we must give it a go.

As soon as we walked in, the staff were so friendly, helpful and polite, they showed us straight to our table and gave us plenty of time to peruse the menu.

We chose the Mixed Hors D'oeuvre - for two, which contains prawn toast, spring rolls, spare ribs, skewers and seaweed, the prawn toast was the best we have ever eaten, all freshly cooked by the looks of it, a lot of restaurants just produce warmed up, pre-cooked food, not the Mulan.

We then had the heavenly crispy duck with pancakes, I could eat them all night, then I had the lemon chicken and hubby had the chicken curry, all excellent.

I really can't fault it and we will definitely be returning.

I might add after the 1st course there seemed to be a rather longer than normal delay and we wondered what was going on, then one of the waitresses came up full of apologies saying our chit had blown onto the floor in the kitchen and we had been temporarily forgotten. We said it was fine, we had all evening and it really wasn't a problem, instantly she offered us drinks on the house, we said it wasn't necessary, but she was adamant because they had messed up and felt really bad about it. So we accepted, so many restaurants wouldn't even have admitted their mistake let alone rectify it in that way.

Visited the Mulan after reading the reviews on trip advisor. Lovely food, excellent service and quality decor. One of the best, if not the best Chinese restaurant we've eaten in.

We just happened to come across this restaurant whilst looking for something else. We decided to eat here instead, the best decision we have made in a while for some where to eat. The presentation, the taste and the price was great. The service that was provide was high and very pleasant staff.
Will definitely return next time we want to eat out.

The girlfriend and I came for the lunchtime deal (at time of writing, starter and main for £5.50 each), having read the reviews. I was skeptical, but they utterly convinced me that they deserve such high praise!

Attentive service, very reasonable prices (even drinks, which ran at a little over £2 for a pint of juice or Coke), and fantastic food. The sweet and sour chicken was divine (with generous rice portion), and the chow mein was enormous, with delicious crispy noodles and a lot of vegetables. The whole experience took about an hour (eating at our own pace). Can't complain at all!
