We stepped in to this restaurant on a Saturday night without a reservation, and luckily were seated in a few minutes. The restaurant was busy, and a little noisy with tables close together in the back room where we were seated. The decor was quite unlike anything I had seen before, and such a mish mash of style and colour as to be amusing. Staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful, and although my starter was disappointing, the main course was good. Food was served hot and clearly fresh. We asked for Kulfi but sadly the restaurant doesn't feel there is a market for this in York, so we had regular ice cream which was bought in but nice. The restaurant was kind enough to give us a 10pc discount and order us a cab at the end of the meal. Its a nice find, on Bootham, if you're walking in to or out of town, clearly popular with locals and visitors alike, and if we were that side of town we would visit again.
