Just stayed here on a livingsocial offer. Staff very helpful and friendly and breakfast excellent, including veggie option. But, room disappointing for such an excellent location. Right on the river and a few minutes walk into the shopping area. Room was billed as superior river view , but the window was a swing attic one, so you had to actually stand up to look out of it in order to see the river. Hotel reminded me of a shabby American Holiday Inn, and the bath grab handles as well as light switches were grubby. Would stay here again at the living social price though!

Room Tip: Ask for a river view room that is NOT on the third floor?!

Briefly...Could not fault the hotel - lovely location: the room - comfortable, quiet and spotless: the staff - polite and helpful: the food - by far the worst I have encountered in a long time..inedible !

Room Tip: Overlooking the river on second floor

Stayed at the Queens hotel, ideal location right on the bank's of the bank's of the River Ouse, shame about the rest of the hotel.

The rooms are adequate in size and the location perfect as we had a view over the river, but the décor of the hotel and fixtures are old and tired.
The entrance is a sharp flight of steps, the lift was being refurbished, the bathroom smelt of silican sealer and needed a good scrub! Bathroom showers and furniture need replacing.
Bedroom furniture is as you would find in any Premier Inn.

There is no safe of any kind either in the room or the office to secure valuables, which I would expect when you pay £90 a night for the room.
The internet connection was free but was totally inadequate giving intermittent and slow service.
Breakfast was a standard buffet affair, adequate but not inspiring.
Parking was onsite but at a cost. There were not enough spaces for a full hotel so someone will have been unlucky.
Would not stay here again unless the hotel had undergone refurbishment.

The staff were very welcoming and gave us a map of the city... the room overlooked the river, it was lovely. Hotel very clean and it had plenty of room. Breakfast was nice. Good value for money. We would go back.
