My friend and I got there early and the staff allowed us in half an hour before we were booked, all incredibly friendly and helpful. Our guide was ridiculously well-trained in her role, very enthusiastic and knowledgeable - clearly they are very thorough in learning their stuff, no half-assing about for these guys. The entire experience is very interactive, as at every stage you find yourself tasting something or taking part in the process. Making your own lollipop is one of the smartest ideas - a piece of the experience you can take out with you. The chocolatier demonstration at the end is probably what everyone is waiting for, because you get to attempt to eat all the freshly made chocolates. I would recommend this attraction to anyone visiting York - it doesn't take too long, it's a very reasonable price for something so interesting and fun, and I can only imagine how popular this one would be with young children.
