Owner description: Holy Trinity Goodramgate has the air of a hidden treasure. It stands in a small, secluded, leafy churchyard, with the Minster towering behind, tucked away behind Goodramgate - one of York's busiest shopping streets. To visit, you pass through an 18th-century archway tacked on to buildings that served as artisans' workshops in the 14th century. The church itself is full of character. The floors and arcades are charmingly uneven. Light filters through the windows, illuminating honey-coloured stone. The east window especially has marvellous stained glass that was donated in the early 1470s by the Reverend John Walker, rector of the church. On sunny days, transient gems of coloured light are scattered on the walls, and various Medieval faces stare out from the windows.

I love this little church tucked away just off Goodramgate, it's very unusual because of its enclosed pews and how "wonky" and uneven it looks. We also caught the birds of prey show outside which just added to the visit.

York is a jewel of a town, yet I never expected to come upon such an unique church, especially not in a back alley behind a half hidden entrance gate. The Holy Trinity Church is a plain stone building with a little green yard leading to it, yet once inside you are transferred to a different time: it's the combination of the stale air, the uneven floor and walls, and especially the brown and teal coloured box pews - something I'd never seen before. If you travel to York, don't miss it.

A small little church with quite a bit of history. Very dull and quite boring inside. You just have to appreciate how old it is, and that's about it! Underneath the floors are tombs which is quite cool. When we went in May, there was an organization with owls you could pet and hold right outside - now that was fun! A good site to see if you have time to kill, but I wouldn't say it's a priority.
