We managed to get a 7.00pm booking on Wednesday 13 November following strong recommendation from the barman at Lowther's Pub by the river. We weren't disappointed. This is a small family run business, with simple , quality cooking and excellent service. The friendly atmosphere is incredible. You must put this on your list of eating places if you are staying in York.

Excellent little place to go. We three all had pizza after learning that they had an authentic pizza oven. Quite a few of the diners were Italian (Juve were playing) which added to the atmosphere. Charming and relaxed with good (Italian) service. The pizzas were gorgeous!
Highly recommend.

This small, lively restaurant offers good quality, freshly cooked Italian food at reasonable prices. It has a cheerful interior with red & yellow painted walls & a lively atmosphere. We went around seven o'clock on a Monday in November & it quickly filled up which is a testament to the tasty food on offer & the convivial atmosphere generated by the largely Italian/Sicilian? staff. The seafood risotto (£10) was delicious & packed with tasty clams, mussels etc as was my partner's lasagne & the service good. We were also given complimentary bread & dipping oils while we waited for our food. A good experience all round & one to recommend.

It's an odd place, but I think that's why we like it!

Great food!
Great prices!
(Remember to book, it gets really busy, easily fit 10 of us though)
Great atmosphere!
Great staff! (I think they are hilarious, no doubt not to everyone's taste)

Superb freshly cooked proper Italian dishes served by great staff. Excellent wine. All at a fair price. Cash only though! Not just a great meal but a great night out. Book though it's very busy.
