Again big friendly welcome, outstanding thin crispy pizza, great value Italian wine and a warming grappa at the conclusion of a super night. The place was packed, it was mid week and it was january and I guess like us the December credit card bill had hit the mat for so many others that same day. True escapism.

Four of us had a birthday celebratory.Having seen the picture on Tripadvisor we did not know what to expect. It is quite small maybe 30 covers in all, and it is quite cramped when full, as it was when we visited.
However the surroundings have a nice feel and service was attentive. We had some interesting banter with the staff but we never waited long for either drink or food.
The food itself is like you would eat in a neighbourhood restaurant in Italy, very tasty and with an authentic feel.
We enjoyed it immensely although it is not that cheap.
There is little choice of wine i.e.house or nothing, but it well priced and is a reasonable quality in one litre bottles.
On a less positive note the single toilet could do with an upgrade.
All in all, it is very good and we will going back.

Normally a restaurant being stuffed full is a good sign, but if you have taken the precaution of making a booking you do at least expect to be able to sit down comfortably. I visited as part of a group who had made a booking and paid a deposit some weeks in advance. There was clearly not enough room when we arrived and we were all jammed round a table so tightly we could barely use our cutlery. One of our party was actually perched at the corner of the table in the doorway to the kitchen, so had to duck whenever a plate was carried in or out. The food was OK, but nothing amazing and definitely not worth putting up with the discomfort. Very disappointed as had heard so many good things about this place. I wondered if something had just gone wrong that evening but seeing other reviews complaining about overcrowding it seems that our experience was not uncommon.

I have been here a few time now, with my husband for dinner, with all the family for lunch and with colleagues after work. Every time it has been great. Very good food, authentic Italian, the specials are not cheap but they one,s I have tasted we're all lovely. The clams and mussels starter was delicious, the pizzas are good too. It,s very small so you are quite crammed in and it's quite a loud informal cafe feel, so prob not best if you want a pash atmosphere, but the food is top quality.
