Owner description: Built in 1730 by Thomas Atkinson, this is a splendid example of early-Georgian architecture containing beautiful 18th-century furniture and paintings mostly from Buckingham House (now Buckingham Palace.)

We visited here last week and we were surprised just how lovely it is...Really well kept and the house has a very interesting history with beautiful gardens and a fabulous woodland walk. There is a nice tea room with friendly staff and a gift shop and toilets...Lots of free parking and well worth spending a few hours here.

I have been round the house and grounds a few times and really worth a visit. Also been to see the birds of prey in action and this was excellent.

What an awfull team of gardeners.very rude and unhelpfull
Popped into the walled garden and what a diference ,kind helpfull staff ,we didn't have a ticket for the bird place but we still got to have a quick look around.wish we had gone there and not the shoddy maltreated gardens ,these gardeners need a kick up the backside and get it tidied I was stung by several rampant nettles.

Went over to the park to walk the dog. Had a lovely walk around the perimeter of the gardens and didn't realise you had to pay as it was private property..oops. Half of us used our groupon voucher to the minister falconary who are currently renting the space in the park until November and then they are moving locations. Saw and stroked different owls they had and the staff were all nice, polite, helpful and knowledgeable. Other half of our group had a cuppa at the park cafe and then we had a tea cake when regrouped. A pleasant time was had by all.
