Spent a brilliant 3 days in York over new years festivities and as with a great number of people made our way to The Minster for the new year countdown. Strangely, after midnight, we were drawn to St Michaels as the church was full and there was a glitterball over the entrance. Walking inside everybody was wishing us "Happy New Year" with handshakes and hugs, there was music( Coldplay), people from teens to pensioners all mixing and talking and free hot chocolate. It was amazing. We got talking to a fantastic lady, the Assistant Curate who explained that this was something that they had done for the past few years. I'd just like to thank her and everyone associated with this church for this unique experiance. Well done
