Take a riverside stroll along to Rowntree Park where you'll find a great play park for little ones to run free and unwind in a lovely setting. I've heard the cafe is great too.

I have been to this park since I was a baby - even before they knocked down the outdoor pool! The improvements that have been made are great.
The greens/courts/parks are brilliant.
The down side of visiting this place, which really does put me off, is the goose excrement everywhere. When my boys were smaller, their buggies were covered in the stuff. You can't picnic on the grass and it's just a real shame.
