We used to put on Goth nights in this fabulous old function rooms: perfect with it's creepy decadence, dusty chandeliers and cavernous ballroom. Loved it. The "Oak Room" downstairs also made an excellent venue for live music and club nights. Sadly the Council decided to close it to the public for no good reason and now it's mainly a rehearsal space for the Theatre Royal. They do occasionally open it up for balls 'n' stuff. Such a shame tho. . .
