We have just spent 3 days at Elliots , and it is excellent, room was modern with large flat screen television, and breakfast was extremely good, the room was warm and comfortable, plenty of tea and coffee milk, biscuits, plus bottles of still water on complimentry tray, everything you need for a enjoyable stay. We have stayed in many Hotels in York and B&B over the many years while visiting York, and this is by far the best !! and the proprietors Maureen and Phil very welcoming.

I really cannot praise Elliots enough, it is superb in every respect. The rooms are luxurious, facilities modern, beds comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing stay. It is in a quiet location, despite the nearby rail line which incidentally does not operate at night, and a good night's sleep is guaranteed.

We have stayed here for several years now, it is a birthday treat for my wife, and we stay for the weekend in early December with friends. The owners Phil and Maureen welcome us like family and Maureen will come and wish Julie a happy birthday at breakfast, a very personal touch indeed.

Talking of breakfast, we travel a lot and I judge breakfasts on the standard set at Elliots, it takes some beating. We all have the full English but variations are available.

A huge plus for Elliots is the spacious car park, there are no parking charges and your car will not be boxed in all day as it is with many other hotels in York. Even if you arrive late there will be a space.

Elliots is very convenient, in daylight hours you can walk through the Museum Gardens and into town in 5 minutes, be prepared for a slight detour after dark because the Gardens are locked but even then it only adds another 5 minutes to your walk back.

So I thoroughly reccomend Elliots, it has everything you need and is great value too.

Room Tip: We always have room 9, cosy, quiet and a huge bed!

Love Elliotts! We have been visiting York a couple of times a year and always stay at Elliotts. You are always sure of a very warm welcome, the rooms are lovely & spacious and have everything you could need. Breakfast is a treat and the added bonus of on site parking is a must. I would recommend Elliotts to anyone wanting a lovely clean place to stay.

This was our second stay at this excellent B&B. It is located in a quiet area just a short stroll away from the centre along a route that takes you through the Museum gardens. There is a secure car park with ample space for guests and is monitored with CCTV. The owners are very welcoming on arrival and will help with any problems you may have. There were 4 adults and a 2 year old in our group and we were given 2 rooms next door to each other, they were both large, warm and very well decorated, spotless and comfortable and had everything that you would expect to find. The breakfast was very, very, good and you didn't need to wait long after ordering before it was served by a very friendly and accomodating lady. We would definitely be staying here again but next time when it is a bit less busy in York, no Xmas markets!!

Room Tip: I cannot imagine any rooms not being good.

My wife and I have been going here for a number of years but from the start Phil and Maureen made us feel at home. We go every year for the Annual York Christmas Fair and the hotel is a sanctaury of peace and calm against the noise and bustle of the crowds. The clientele are generally couples or families and this makes for a pleasant mix at breakfast.
The food at breakfast is sufficent, tasty and served by pleasant, accomodating staff. The walk into York is pleasant as has been noted by other guests. All in all the perfect stay.
Why stay anywhere else in York?

Room Tip: 4-poster room lovely although at the top of the hotel. But well worth the climb.

Already booked for next year, the thing about Elliots is you can believe what it says in the brochure - and more.
Maureen and Phil are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.
It is situated in a great spot for a walk in via park or river, and if you need an evening meal The Bay Horse is just round the corner if you dont want to go too far afield in the evening.
My husband being almost surgically connected to his smartphone, FREE WiFi is an added bonus, a lot of more expensive hotels don't even give you that.
