The hotel building looks good first, the car park is very small for the size of the hotel, very hard to find a space after 5pm and difficult to get in/out. The room seems lost temperature control during the night, very cold. The bath tub is very slippery, I had a fall during the shower and still fell painful after a week, so be careful!

The only downside and it is a big downside for me. I was in a room in the basement and the walls to the adjacent room were extremely thin, could hear them talking clearly and then snoring later in the night, kept me awake. Thank god thats all they were doing.

Lovely building but the rooms were tiny and cold. The bed linen was torn, the bathroom shaving light didn’t work and the bed hard. Such a shame because we’ve stayed previously and had a much better experience with the accommodation.

We stayed here for 1 night in small double room. The size of the room was perfect for 2 of us. The room and bathroom was very nicely decorated and very clean. It was the perfect location, 5/10 minute walk to the city centre. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for you, they showed us to our room on arrival which was a nice touch. Parking was £10 which was reasonable for where we were. They let us park up early before checking in and asked if we wanted to leave our car there for any longer, when we checked out. We didn’t eat in the hotel but did have some drinks in the bar area which again was really nice. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed for 2 nights meeting up with family beginning of April. Location was excellent to walk into town, close to all attractions. Was great to have the car park on site. Breakfast menu offered a great selection, waffles were delicious. Hotel was exceptionally clean. We had booked small double rooms which were more than adequate for our 2 night stay. Only complaint we had was that our room (114) was right next to the cleaning store room so heard the doors slamming shut repeatedly in the mornings. Although this was not a major problem and certainly didn’t spoil our visit and wouldn’t stop us staying again. The ‘Churchill’ theme was carried throughout the property which was really well done. Overall a really enjoyable stay.
