We had a lovely warm welcome on reception, our room was at the front but extremely nice and quiet cul de sac with cctv cameras in car park which was an added bonus, made us feel very secure with leaving our car there :D . The room was lovely and warm, with very nice victorian features such as the old shutters still working to the bay window, very nice linen on the bed fantastic HUGE Sony tv to watch many channels. Bathroom was clean and tidy with fluffy towels. Staff were extremely friendly on reception and even delivered us extra pillows we requested, nothing was too much bother...thank you alhambra court hotel we will be back!!! The cooked breakfast was nice and as a vegetarian I was sooooo pleased I could have a cooked breakfast all cooked separate and away from meat...a rare find and delicious too with veggie sausages, wish we had dined at the restaurant for supper instead of going into town....thank you so much, a lovely trip lovely room for a very good price and literally 5 minutes (if that) walk into town and the cathedral.

We are definitely planning to return.

Room Tip: Our room at the front of the building was very quiet as it is a cul de sac so no passing traffic

Stayed for three days during October 2011. We stayed in one of the four poster bedrooms which was very nice. The area is very quiet and well situated for York's attractions. It has a good car park so we just parked up and walked everywhere! We decided to have meals included in case the weather wasn't very good and to save searching and queueing, as it was half term.
We were not disappointed, the meals were excellent.
We would definitely stay here again.
The only downside was trouble with the toilet flush which due to the time of night wasn't able to be fixed till the morning, although I managed to do a temporary fix myself. The whole bathroom was in need of a bit of rejuvination but then again so do I !! This didn't spoil an enjoyable stay.

Clean and well presented room, period features in lounges, good food and service at breakfast. Large car park at the rear of the hotel. Within walking distance to town centre. Our room was on the top floor, No 14, it was spacious with a lovely, comfy big bed. Nice crisp linen and fresh white towels. We were able to book the hotel for just one night as it was a late booking, but usually on a weekend this is a two night stay hotel.

The price we paid was per room, includind Dinner Bed and Breakfast. Prebooked and very good value. Meals had to be pre-booked on the day but sensible idea as this clearly helps them plan and avoid waste. Meals were tasty and well presented. Very friendly and helpful staff. The only critiicism is that like most hotel bathrooms of our experience, a little better housekeeping would improve their rating overall to excellent. Toilet seat 'wonky' and therefore unsettling...
Hot tap loose. No tray on wall in which to put shower gel etc., ..Toilet flush poor but put right on request. Two armchairs in bedroom but could use a small table on which to put cups while so sitting. Room door needs a hook for outdoor coats. !

The hotel is in a great location and the staff were very helpful.
Our room was very tiny and the room and bathroom could use a bit of an update. The heat was not strong enough
so we did need a space heater which we were greatful for.
