We stayed here for one night on the 5th september the location was spot on only a few minutes walk into york city centre. On arrival we parked the car in the car park belonging to the guest house &were given a hot drink and cake and information about york attractions etc.We were then shown to our room.It was absolutely beautiful with a fantastic view over the river ouse.
Gill and alec were very friendly and helpful and we would definately recommend as a place to stay it could not be faulted.
Looking forward to another stay

The location of this little guest house can't be bettered. Right on the waterfront, by a bridge to the station, a minute from a great pub and a short walk from the city centre, with free parking, it's a gem. However, you MUST listen carefully to the directions the owners give you. The area it's set in is a maze of cul-de-sacs and narrow lanes. The Rough Guide map is hopelessly wrong and SatNav won't help you. A great little place, but be prepared for some very steep and narrow stairs.

We arrived early and left our luggage, while we walked into York. When we came back our luggage had been taken to our room, and what a beautiful room it was, with an extremely comfortable four poster bed and overlooking the river. The Guest House was exceptional and both Gill and Alec went out of their way to give us an enjoyable few days. We really enjoyed Alec's humour and Gill's kind nature. They both made us feel at home, and when we left after 3 nights stay, we felt like we were old friends. They work very hard to keep such high standards in cleanliness and providing beautiful breakfasts. There was so much choice. York is such a lovely historical City and we packed in as much as we could on our stay. The Yorvik Museum was a must, also The Treasurers House. We went on a Ghost Walk and a Boat Trip and thoroughly enjoyed it all.

I spent a few days sightseeing around York, staying at the Abbey Guest House. Excellent service, good hearty breakfasts, and a beautiful view out the dining room overlooking the river. It is an easy walk to old downtown York, and there is a convenient footbridge over the river to the railway station. Gill and Alec are wonderful hosts.

P.S. Take the time to walk the couple of blocks up to the Bay Horse pub.

This B&B is write by the river in York and is very quiet with lovely viws from the upstairs bedroom. We had a four-poster bed which was very comfortable. The hosts were very welcoming and the breakfast very nice indeed. There is plenty of parking behind the guesthouse and it is closely situated to motorway access
