Visited whilst in York today, looked enticing with good range of food and draft beers.

Beers were fine, sadly the food was a let down despite presentation being okay. The steak pie was simply awful - overcooked, tough beef, clearly recooked with water added to hide the cremation.

Maybe I had the wrong dish, partner had a steak dish as well which she didn't finish.

Luckily, the dog doesn't mind the standard of food and got some extra beef today!!

“Another Nicholason Pub”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

The Nicholason organization establishes pubs in historic properties throughout the British Isles retaining the historic interior and exterior of the building while serving a menu that is repeated in each unique location. The food is consistent and good but not particularly inspired. I recommend the half Shropshire chicken with extra gravy served with roasted potatoes and green beans.

“Good value for money.”
Reviewed May 26, 2013 via mobile

2 full English breakfasts and a glass of prosecco for £10. Absolute bargain when you see the size of the portions. Staff all friendly and helpful. Ate in here in the evening too. Everything tasted fresh and had that kind of home cooked comfort about it that you wouldn't get in a wearherspoons.

“Disapponting”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

Had lunch at this pub several times in the past and found it to be good value for money. On this occasion however I had Scampi and Chips, whilst the scampi were acceptable the chips were disgusting. I pointed this out to the manageress who must have agreed with me as she immediately refund my my money. I think it's time to find a fresh pub for lunch.
