Spent quite a few hours here last Saturday the 20th July, realy enjoyed it.Liked the Victorian side the best with its cobbled streets and the little shops and police station the sound effects are great they make it sound as though there is a thunder storm aswell. We spent quite a lot of time in this side and then went and had a coffee and did the sixties side..Well worth the £8.50 each or you could pay £10 each and it included this museum and the Yorkshire Museum aswell and the tickets are valid for a full year..

Enjoyed our visit here, the only downside was that quite a number of the displays were empty particularly in the period costumes area but not being overly interested in this it didn't really bother us. Great to see what went on in the past and once you pay admittion the ticket lets you revisit anytime within 12 months.

A good museum for all ages. Well laid out.
Can get a combined ticket with the Yorkshire Museum (Which I would only recommend for children)
Free for Art Fund ticket holders

The York Castle Museum is great fun. It has recreated a Victorian street so you can get a sense of what life was like. It's great to explore the shops and the streets. Very cool. Well work a visit.
