As a NT member we have visited many of their properties. This I thought was not one of their best. It was fine and well worth a visit as a NT member but I wouldn't pay unless house and history are of great interest to you. Fairfax House and the Merchant Adventurers Hall were of more interest.
We did take the extra(£2.40) tour of the 'ghostly' basement. Just about worth it as the Guide was so good

Up there in the top three things to do in York, in my opinion. Well presented and good information on is historical importance - didn't see the Roman Legion in the basement though!

Tucked behind the Minster, you could easily miss this NT property, which we have a several previous visits. The interior is definitely a quirky mix and quite fascinating. 2 tours are offered, but only the attic tour is worth doing, and you definitely need the 'hard hat'. The cellar tour is really only a ghost story, true or otherwise but similar to many other you can hear in Lincoln and York centre. Entrance is free for NT members but they is a charge (even for members) for the tours.

Tucked away behind the Minster the Treasurer's House is well worth seeking out. We visited York during the hot month of July and the house and front garden were a cool and quiet oasis in the centre of busy York.
The house has a wonderful, tranquil atmosphere and gives an idea of the splendour and quality of life some people enjoyed in olden days.
The food in the restaurant was excellent and very reasonable.
The Treasurer's House: well worth a visit.
