You may be disapointed by this I, and I admit it can be( to my wifes chagrin ) a complete anorak when it comes to history and this does have a sad history in terms of the York progrom.
However after a very steep climb you find out it is over £4/person for not a lot apart from the view and the obligatory gift shop.
My advice would be unless you need the excercise avoid this and spend the fee on something else and the plaque at the base of the mote explains most things.
