Found this place via tripadvisor and found it lived up to its billing. A quirky venue with plenty of interesting beers and ciders plus reasonably priced, freshly prepared food. A good refuelling stop when sight-seening in York.

Stumbled across this pub/eatery cum off license whilst visiting York, if you like different beers from all around the world this is the place for you. They have an enormous selection of beers on sale that you can sample in the pub upstairs for an additional fee of 125 pence on top of the bottle price in the off license downstairs. They also have some nice reasonably priced Belgian beer on tap. The decor is rustic with stuffed animal heads lining the walls and there is a simple but tasty menu for food if you want it. Well worth a visit but beware more than three or four of those high alcohol percentage beers and you understand the name of the place....trembling madness.. Delirium tremens indeed!!!

This quirky little bar/restaurant has plenty of character and the food isn't bad either, if you are looking for fine dining then this won't be the place for you but if you are looking for good hearty food then this ticks the boxes.

Wonderful pub and shop. Good food, fantastic atmosphere, a must see/visit in York. We visited for a spot of lunch and ended up staying for 3 hours! If you've got good company, fancy some good beer and hearty food definitely the place to go.

We stopped here for a pre-dinner drink - quirky little pub but nice atmosphere. Huge range of unusual beers to buy in the shop downstairs and a selection of guest beers available on top. Staff were friendly and helpful too. Didn't eat there but the sharing platters looked great.
