Went here on the strength of excellent TA reviews and they weren't wrong! As soon as you walk in the wonderful atmosphere hits you! Warm, quirky, historic, happy .....in fact Trembling Madness seems to just ooze friendliness. Our husbands each had a pint of beer 7% proof which they liked that much, they had to have more! We ladies had a seasonal tipple of mulled wine .... delicious. The food was A M A Z I N G! Reasonably priced and excellent portions we all had a taste of each others meal and all of them were bursting with flavour. We stayed in York for two days and it was a unanimous decision that Trembling Madness was our favourite venue whilst there. Well done Trembling Madness keep it up :-D

“If you like beer, this place is a must !”
Reviewed December 14, 2013

We called in for a drink after being out for a meal, half a Delerium ,followed by a large mulled wine and a pint of mulled cider and i was a bit drunk to say the least . i realy love the atmosphere in here, very busy so you end up sitting with other drinkers, the majority of which are tourists so intersting conversations ensue.its a must for every visit to York.will try eating in here one day.

“Cosy, friendly little gem”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

We've been to york many times but had some how missed this place. Ventured up the stairs & into beery heaven. I had mulled wine with pork & chorizo stew, Gordon had Russian stout and a Christmas platter. It did take a little bit for our food to come but the waitress did warn us of this + we were in no hurry. Great place to while away an evening, friendly, cozy & ended up chatting to complete strangers.

“Good beer in a great atmosphere”
Reviewed December 6, 2013

I have eaten here in the past and can recommend the platters etc but honestly I tend to go for the beer. The draught changes regularly and at the moment they have a good Belgium Christmas beer on as well as a fine selection of bottles.

“Fantastic place to sit and relax”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

My most favourite pub in York BY FAR!! Food and drink is excellent. I have been visiting for the last 4 years and the service and food are always of the same high standard. Excellent store downstairs.
