We stayed one night on our way thru York , they usually rent 2 nights at a time but were kind enough to do one night . They are very welcoming and give u lots of information for York . We stayed in the African room which was nice . I personally don t like choosing my breakfast the night before but i can understand the reason behind it . The choice of cereals ,jams which were homemade and lovely and Danish , endless variety !! Thanks for a lovely stay

We have stayed at Feversham Lodge a couple of times for several years and have always enjoyed ourselves. David and Elaine are excellent hosts and they do all they can to ensure that you have a lovely experience and happy memories of York. The accommodation is very nice with each room having a particular theme. The food is varied and they are always trying new ideas at breakfast.

Room Tip: All the rooms are lovely and none will disappoint.

This is the Third year running we have stayed with Elaine and David at Feversham Lodge and without doubt we will be back to stay with them every time we go to York. Not only because of their high standards and reasonable prices but also for David and Elaine's knowledge, witty and interesting tales, and once you have found somewhere as special and welcoming as Feversham lodge why would you go else where?

We took advantage of their special offer this year so this meant we could extend our stay at this wonderful place to four days to do our Christmas shopping and with York city centre only a short easy stroll away, if that’s too much for you after days shopping there is a good bus service available, what more could we want.

On arrival both David and Elaine greet you as if you are family and within a few seconds put you at ease and take a genuine interest in you, your stay and your trip there without being intrusive and this genuine interest continues throughout your stay. This time we stayed in the Victorian room which is a large comfortable room with a welcoming sofa to relax on after a long day of shopping.

Everything about Feversham lodge is top quality from the linen on the bed, the towels and compliments in the shower room to the freshly prepared breakfasts. The clean well presented accommodation and the facilities on offer is more than you would expect to receive in a five star rated guest house and at Faversham lodge you get them for a four star price.

Both David and Elaine have from personal experience a vast knowledge of places to visit and eat in and around York and we have never had a bad experience from any of their recommendations so if in any doubt of where to eat or visit ask them. So if you are looking to visit York and want a great place to stay then contact Elaine and David at Feversham Lodge, you won’t be disappointed and like us you could try and stay in each room.

Once again we had another wonderful stay at one of the UK,s Premier Guest Houses arrived lunch time Friday and where greeted by David & Elaines smiling faces it makes a big difference when the owners spend time talking about how you have been ect and what's going on in York over the weekend. The Breakfast is up there with any 5 star hotel in the Uk in my opinion and wonderfully served up by David who always has a good story to tell during breakfast.
Cannot fault this great Guest House everything is first class and nothing is to much trouble for David & Elaine
Thanks once again for a terrific time.

We came on our honeymoon to England from Canada and while we were in York we were able to stay at Feversham Lodge. From the start, David and Elaine made us feel at home. We found Feversham Lodge to be conveniently located within walking distance to the historic centre of York. The train station is a bit further away; we took a cab from/to our train. Our train trip from York to London was made easier by a box of chocolates that David and Elaine were kind enough to give us as a parting gift!

Breakfast was uniformly excellent; both Elaine's cooking and David's tales of the area, great eateries in York and his experiences in South Africa. Elaine's home made granola was a particular highlight. David was always very interested about our previous day's activities and what we were up to after breakfast with many great suggestions...especially helpful for a couple of Canucks who don't know much about Yorkshire!

Our room was wonderful and clean with a roof window that opened up for a bit of fresh air if needed. Coffee and tea and a small fridge were provided in the room with a en suite washroom as well.

We loved York and loved staying at Feversham Lodge; we hope to return soon!

I stayed here 3 nights last week with my wife. The B&B is about a 5 minute easy strole to the minister. Had slight problem with heating one day and left a note and it was sorted by the time we got back to the room after our trip out. David has loads of fab stories to tell and lots of useful information, breakfast were fab and we will return again for sure.
