Stayed here over the long Easter weekend with my wife a two kids (ages 2 & 4).

First, the good - brilliant staff (how Premier Inn always seem to manage to employ friendly, helpful people I have no idea!). They even brought in a tame live "easter bunny" for the kids. Parking was good, hotel clean and tidy enough. Great location with easy access to bus services into York. Pub next door has good food (but quite pricey and we couldn't get a table the day we arrived).

The bad:
- Noise. Some audible voices from other rooms, but mainly a persistent humming noise that didn't stop all night. Bathroom fans from adjoining rooms quite noisy.
- Small rooms. With four of us in a room there wasn't room to swing a cat. Or rather, open a suitcase.
- No bath - not a problem for me, but the kids tend to cry and scream if you shove them in the shower.
- No shaver socket that I could find.
- No lift, so a few stairs to heft your luggage up if you're on the first floor.

I'll probably try somewhere else on my next trip and give this one a miss.

Stayed here for three nights over Easter 2013; whilst you can tell the hotel used to be a Holiday Inn because of the bathroom design (no bath) as usual with a Premier Inn, you get what you pay for. the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout and the bonus is the on site pub 'The Dormouse' which caters for all needs. We use this hotel quite regularly when we stay in York as it's well connected with regular buses to the centre and yet far enough away to be useful as a base (with car park) to explore the rest of Yorkshire.

Stayed here for 1 night on Easter Monday. As always with Premier Inns very clean with all you need for a good stay. Room was a bit small but all we did was sleep in there so not a problem. Dormouse pub next door was fine for a quick lunch before going in to York for the day (although it was very busy as it was a bank holiday). Location of the hotel excellent and we were able to walk into York easily (about 25 minutes). Breakfast was good but a little cramped in terms of space for seating and accessing the breakfast options. Have stayed at the Premier Inn York South West before which I preferred, but due to the location and surrounding grounds will stay at this hotel again when visiting York.

Well placed, excellent staff made us very welcome and great breakfast. Had a super stay and hotel was very close to city centre that we travelled in on the bus, super!
Would definitely stay here again. Thank you

Tucked away from noisy road junctions and easy access to York and surrounds. Friendly helpful staff. Very good standards of cleanliness (not true of all Premier Lodges) and good food/service. "The Dormouse" next door is popular for evening meals of good quality. Are Premier Lodge rooms getting smaller and smaller - do not even think of swinging a cat!

Room Tip: First floor at back is best. Try 115 to 121 but not 119 when we are staying, please.
