“Great anniversary weekend”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

All the premier inns were booked up in York when I first looked but a few days later a room became available at York north which is the location I would have chosen upon full availability due to the good reviews.

It is easy to find and in a lovely quiet location, just what we were looking for.

The staff were friendly upon check inn and throughout our stay. The rooms are of a typical premier inn so you know exactly what to expect, comfy beds and pillows and rather spacious. The large tv was a added bonus.

Breakfast was really good with a good selection of cereals, fruit, croissants, teas etc and the breakfasts were cooked to order so everything was really hot and fresh.

The park and ride is just opposite the hotel which is really handy for getting into York, no hassle with parking and parking charges. It is the Rawcliffe number 2, on the green line. Plenty of buses every 10 mins.

We ate at the dormouse pub for our aniversay meal which is next to the hotel. The food was delicious and the service was very efficient even though it was quite busy. We were served by Micheal who was friendly and professional. I had booked a table earlier in the week and the hotel recommended a booking when checking in.

Overall a fantastic stay, well done premier inn.

Stayed in a number of premier inns throughout the contry, very pleased with our overnight stay here, half an hours walk into town centre, nice walk if weather is good. Set in a wooded area, very quiet and with a nice pub which served good food 50 yards walk away couldn't ask for more. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and tidy. Close to park and ride which we didn't use but saw enough buses pass us into the centre and back. Plenty of car parking spaces to park car which we didn't need this time as we travelled into York by train but know for future stays. The taxi drive from York station to the premier inn only £7.50. Lovely breakfast the following morning, yet agan couldn't fault any of the food or service from staff. Overall great stay and will be back!

The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. The room was very clean and comfortable with everything you would need and there is ample parking. Getting into the city centre is very easy using the park and ride just down the road. There is a pub in the grounds which is very handy for a meal and a nightcap after a long day in the city. We would highly recommend this hotel

We have stayed in Premier Inns all over the U.K. and have relied on them all offering the same facilities. We chose to stay overnight in York after a weeks stay in Yorkshire and following a days sghtseeing in the city were looking forward to a relaxing bath before our evening meal.We were very disappointed to find that the hotel has no rooms with baths, only showers.
This is particularly annoying as your t.v, advert makes a point of a long hot soak in the bath!!
Also there was no shaver socket in the room.
Perhaps your advert needs amending as to the availability of baths in every hotel.

On another point we feel that the cost of breakfast is now rather expensive compared to other outlets in the area around most of your hotels. Presumably this is because single people and couples are subsidising the cost of the free breakfasts for under 15s who can eat as much as a full paying adult?

We really enjoy staying in Premier Inns but hardly ever find we can be flexible enough to get the real good rates. This time @£49 we jumped at the chance as just about everything in central York was booked or £100+!
It is easy to find and in a lovely wooded area with a great pub about 50yards away, close to a park & ride, and with special concessions with cabs for a fixed rate no meter trip into the city.
It was probably the smallest Premier Inn room we've been in - but not small, if that makes sense? It took a while to get the room up to temperature, but fine once it was. Plenty of pillows - wonderful! Staff helpful and friendly as usual, nothing too much trouble.
We'd booked a restaurant in town (see seperate review) as it was a birthday weekend away, but the pub food looked good and a bit more inventive than the usual lasagne, sheperds pie and scampi pub grub. If this had been "sold" a bit more by Premier Inn on their site we might have eaten there instead.
Really good stay, recommend highly.

Room Tip: Quiet location any room should be fine, though it is on a business park so things might start up ear...

We wanted to stay in York for our wedding anniversary and we were so glad we had chosen this particular Premier Inn as it was in a quiet location, not very large, near a good pub, lovely breakfast and helpful staff. The only negative was that the heating did not work in the room but we did have a plug in heater which worked well. It was very near a good bus service into the city so we did not have to worry about expensive parking. A very convenient Inn and we shall definitely stay there again.

Very impressed with the friendliness of all the Staff and nothing was too much trouble when we asked for directions, bus time tables or extra tea, coffee and milk. The breakfast was fantastic and the choice was excellent, from full english to continental. The room was lovelly as well. Would highly reccommend Premier Inn too all my family and friends. Thank you for a pleasurable stay.
