The setting is good and the receptionist was very welcoming and well informed. She advised us where we could find the nearest pharmacy and supermarket. Room to a good standard and bed VERY comfortable .Breakfast served in house was good with no wait for service.

The Doormouse pub next door serves good food in pleasant surroundings. A very convenient base for a sightseeing break to York, close to a park & ride. We intend to return.
One point. Our sat nav thought the hotel's postcode was a small housing estate just down the road from the Inn. Not a problem, however be aware. Good place to stay.

We stay at many Premier Inn's and this one is another of the good ones. (not that we have stayed in a bad one yet). Ample parking available and a friendly greeting at reception for checkin.

We were invited to book a table for dinner at the Doormouse pub/restaurant next door which we did and the room we had gave us all the normal comforts.

Big and comfortable bed, freeview TV, clean and spacious.

The only downside (although it didn't matter to us) was that the hotel has no lift so if you are on the top floor you have to be prepared to climb 2 flights of stairs. So if you have a problem getting upstairs you need to flag it with the hotel on booking.

Breakfast was superb, we were offered the usual continental by buffet style with Cereal, Croisants, toast, crumpets, fruit, yoghurt, tea and coffee. Then the chef on site cooked us a full breakfast which was very tasty and with a choice of boiled, poached, scambled or fried eggs.

A great stay at a great hotel.

Very good location, quiet, shower and toilet rooms could do with a clean inside and the grounds were littered with paper and plastic bottles for 5 days that we were staying, that's why I have not given 5 stars. I did speak to one of the receptionists on my second day as she was leaving the premeises and she did mention about the litter which would be picked up that day. Someone did make an attempt which i would give 1 star for trying!!
The breakfasts is self service on the premises every morning with a choice of hot food if you want. The Dormouse next door is also very good for evening meals.

clean and friendly. Good location bus stop across road into city centre. Take a peg for your nose though if you intend using the park and ride just up the road as it seems to be situated next to a sewage farm and is pretty overpowering. This does not however travel as far down as the Premier Inn thankgoodnes! The Doormouse pub next door serves a decent meal in pleasant surroundings. All in all a good base for a sightseeing break to York and we would certainly stay again

Room Tip: family rooms are always a bonus as they have a settee to sit with a cuppa or put a suitcase on
