The hotel was clean and newly refurbished. Reception chap was really friendly and booked me a table in the pub next door (lovely meal!).
Slept like a log- no complaints at all. Thank you

Stayed here for weekend break and discovered a real treasure , its located about a mile and half out of centre so is within walking distance(about 15 to 20 mins) also its on a good bus route about every 10 to 15 mins or a recommended taxi about £6 , staff very friendly and helpful well appointed clean rooms plenty of parking and nice pub restaurant next door, will definitely return to this one thanks

Room Tip: We always prefer a first floor room

We paid £147 for two nights, the rooms are a good size, clean, comfortable and modern. A decent size car park saved us on parking fees, and a regular bus service (£3.20 return) or taxi (about £7) meant only a 10/15 minute journey into the city was easy. The breakfast was tasty (had continental - had a good selection and decent coffee too!). There is a lovely pub called The Dormouse next door that had an extensive menu and a cosy atmosphere. The staff in the hotel and the pub were friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

This was our first stay at a Premier Inn and won't be our last. We have usually stayed at B&B or other hotels of this nature so thought we would give this one a try. We know York very well so the location of this Premier Inn was ideal as it's just a short bus journey into the city centre. We left the car at the Premier for two days sight seeing in York and went over to Whitby on the third day. Everything about our three day stay was perfect. From the friendly welcome to the cheery goodbye, it really couldn't have been better. The Dormouse pub opposite accommodated us even though they were full for Sat evening (best to book on busy evenings) and they served us with a cheery smile and good food. As said the hotel was more or less perfect, very clean and comfortable the bed especially comfortable and large enough not to feel cramped. Bathroom and shower very nice and powerful.
All in all a very enjoyable weekend.
One gripe, minor really. Get some bleach down that sink plug hole, it was a bit smelly and we had to keep the plug closed when not in use. Also a bit pricey for a Saturday night (£91 without breakfast) but school half term I suppose it would be expected. But as said overall we will be back when visiting York again.

Room Tip: We had a ground floor room which was at the rear of the hotel. This we found to be very quiet and aw...

i stayed here for 2 nights starting Saturday 22nd October 2011 till Monday 24th October 2011. we stayed in room 116 which is a ground floor room. the room was clean and the beds were comfortable and you did not have springs poking up your back. i went with my mum, dad and sister. the hotel is away from the road and has lots of land and space. the staff were very friendly and always greeted you with a smile and nothing was too much trouble and they were friendly with anyone. our room was very clean on arrival and beds were good but as it was a family room it sometimes got a bit cramped. this did not bother me. we ate out for the 2 nights once in york and on sunday we ate at the dormouse pub which is gorgeous. breakfast we ate a lot but the orders on first morning were a bit slow. i would definitely stay here again if . you are looking for a short break. it was ideal and not far from a bus stop . the service of the bus stop was fantastic and quick and we used the park and ride often. breakfast was busy. this was the first time i stayed here and i will go here for a short break again in this area as ideal for travel and walking distance. there was no noise inside or out so did not worry there and had 2 good night sleeps but only thing is was the drains in the bathroom smelt a bit which was a small issue and did not bother about it during the stay as it was only when running the tap water in the sink you could smell it. shower dead powerful and check in was orderly and efficient . book it if you can as i recommend this hotel to you all personally and we had no problems with food and my stay and my family's stay will never be forgotten and i have no critism to make about the place at all and there was plenty of room to put suitcases and the room was at the right tempreture and the air con was brilliant even though it wasn't boiling hot in the hotel and it wasn't to cold either it was just right. i am definitely going to be back and i forgot to say that the only time you could hear noise was when someone was pulling a suitcase too and from thier room on the upper floors that was not a issue.

Room Tip: room 116 is quiet and you can not here noise in this room as it is a ground floor. request this room

Stayed here for one night and it was as expected - very good. Clean room, comfortable bed and in a good location with free parking and near to a bus stop for the city.

What we didnt expect was how friendly the reception staff were particularly the overnight receptionist who explained very patiently how the vending machine worked. He was so helpful and didnt just ignore our struggle with the dodgy machine.

We have stayed here before and liked it and we find the consistency of this chain of hotels very reassuring.

Room Tip: I think they are all of the same high standard and the setting is very quiet.
