Booked a nights stay with Laterooms.com and we stayed at the Ibis, York, the room was clean except for mould in the shower and a couple of stains on the carpet! Plenty of tea and coffee supplied in the room!
York is a beautiful ancient city, the Minster is wonderful but I object to having to pay £15.00 to go into a church, I thought it was terrible to have to pay so much!
The Shambles were exactly as I expected, closed in and the houses so close together! The only thing that spoilt our visit was the rain, it didn't stop the whole of the time we were there! Oh and also 40p to go to the toilet, daylight robbery, those toilets are by the Market at the back of the Shambles!!! We both walked miles and miles around the streets but it's a beautiful city and worth the visit!
