This ibis is a short walk from Mickelgate at York. It's little out of the city centre but that doesn't deter from its convenience. The location has plenty of pubs, food outlets and convenience stores. It's probably a good ten mins walk to the city centre.
This Ibis is much the same as all the other Ibis brands across Europe. Except this one just has that extra bit of class. It's in a converted building which still retains a little character. The rooms are spacious. The beds are basic and a little hard (doesn't bother me) but they are slightly wider than a single. So it much more comfortable. The bathrooms are modern and with a bit of style.
Staff very cheerful and friendly. We stayed on a Saturday and Sunday night. Saturday cost £90 alone which is a little steep I think for the Ibis brand. But a Saturday nights accommodation in York isn't much cheaper.
So up to you. You pay a bit more for a Friday and Saturday.
