This was our first visit to York and stayed only one night with my husband and no children( for the first time ever).I read the reviews and came to the conclusion there was very few negative comments so that made my decision for me to stay at this hotel,-they were not wrong !! .The location was fantastic ,right by The Minister, the staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. We arrived early and were able to leave our luggage and car, which was parked for us off site and went to explore the city. We returned late in the afternoon to find our room had been upgraded for us, and our luggage was in the room with our jackets already hung in the wardrobe -talk about room service!! .We were at the back of the hotel ,which was fine, the room was spotlessly clean, with a tv and dvd, and with a variety of tea, coffee and biscuits to help yourself to. The bed was so comfortable with a choice of pillows. The breakfast menu spoilt you for choice-tea, or coffee was brought to your table and toast if you wanted, you then could then help yourself to a variety of fruit juices, cereals, fruit and pastries, your waitress ordered your hot food which ranged from eggs in what ever way you wanted them cooked, smoked salmon, kippers, waffles or even a boring full English !!! All the staff were extremely friendly but Jayne seemed to go the extra mile, nothing was too much trouble for her. We checked out and again were able to leave the luggage, whilst we ventured into the city again till late on in the afternoon, when we returned to collect the car and our luggage which was even put in the car for us-service with a smile.
All in all ,a great overnight stay which unfortunately was not long enough which means a return visit in the near future, and would definitely stay in the Dean Court Hotel again.
