Owner description: York Maze is an a-maizing day out for the whole family. The attraction is based around a giant maze, made from maize plants. We open during the school summer holidays,to give families an amazing day out. With over 20 different rides and attractions, the kids will be kept busy for the whole day! York Maze also runs halloween events for families in the daytime, and teenagers and adults at night during the Halloween half term. We finish the year with a huge firework spectacular set to music, on November the 5th every year. When we are not open to the public, we host weddings in our beautiful barn comlex. It's the perfect setting for a rustic wedding!

Plenty to do for all the family. Really liked the House of cornfusion! My son enjoyed the bouncy cushion (so did I!). The crazy golf was also good and the wooden children's maze. The actual maze was closed til lunchtime the day we went as it was too wet but there was plenty to keep us busy despite this.

Following our debut visit last summer, my wife, two daughters (4 & 1) and I took our second trip to the maze today. If you have not been and are staying in the vicinity. Make sure you go.
The maze in my opinion is not even the best thing about the attraction. We love watching the pig racing (Red Runt was today's winner) enjoying the two small play parks and had a great picnic in the undercover seating area.
There is plenty of space so despite the huge crowds you do not feel rushed or cramped for room. You do have to expect to queue a little but that is not a problem.
The Crowmania ride (tractor and trailer) mixes corny jokes and an excellent story to entertain on the way around, you will get wet.
We as a family also enjoy the wide range of activities that the children to join which does require additional payment. These include 3 smaller mazes, a brilliant little crazy golf course, inflatable slide and obstacle course and a simple giant hay bale to climb.
There is also some outside painting available in the shape of a York maze murial, this kept our girls entertained for a while.
All in all a very good day and we will definitely be going again in 2015.

My children and I have been to York Maze twice now, once at October Half term and for a trip in the summer school holidays. Both trips have been great with lots of things to do on both occasions.
The summer holidays trip obviously had the maze up and running which is fun as well as the other mazes and the tractor ride where you need to be prepared to get wet.
The Halloween visit was good fun too with kids getting to carve their own pumpkin and keep it..def worth the trip.
It does get busy but it doesnt feel like there are loads of people there as its well spaced out and once you've paid to go in unless you pay for the go-carts or model boats everything is included.
Would recommend taking a picnic as food there isnt cheap and the last time we visited we had burgers from the Yorkshire Dragon grill which were cold and overpriced - nothing special.
Also not a lot to do if it rains as there is not a lot of shelter but the house of confusion is def worth queueing up for!

My partner booked this in kids 6 weeks holidays in August 2014 an lets just say it wouldn't have been my choice of place to go well let's just say how wrong I was its a great day out both my daughters age 4 and 8 loved it. There's plenty to do all day long. The maze was good fun. There's a animal area where you can hold snakes an owls and it's all free which is a credit to the site as most places would charge for this. The house of confusion was brilliant not to go in if you've been out on pop day before ha ha.
There lots of things to enjoy at a good price an good thing is when your in there not charging for a lot of things like most places i would recommend this place for a visit.

Had a great day out, we spent 7 hours there with 2 adults, a 7 year old and a 1 year old. Plenty to do. The staff are either very well trained or naturally friendly - almost everyone makes eye contact, smiles and asks you how your day is going / wishes you a good day.

Food in the cafe is tasty, facilities are clean.

Only black marks:

1. The maze was a bit too easy really - as adults we never felt 'lost', but maybe we were just following the 'happy path' led by our 7 year old.

2. They've followed the lead of other attractions by adding extra-cost attractions (remote control boats, battery powered go-karts and some water wars thing) - there is enough to do without those to justify the ticket price, but it's still annoying having to say 'no' on a day out having already spent £70 on tickets and food.

Other than that it's excellent and next year we'll consider a season ticket as we live close enough.
