“Exceptionally good service”
Reviewed May 9, 2011

I stayed two weekend nights at Blossom St South, top floor with my young daughter. All the staff we encountered could not have been more obliging, from the helpful receptionist, to the barman who gave me plates and cutlery to eat our own food in our room. The room was spotless, large, and beds and bedding/pillows luxurious. Lots of hot water and very peaceful both nights. The hotel is very easy for the station and a nice short walk into town. We had one adult buffet breakfast and my daughter ate free; this was great value compared to the £7 we spent on coffee and croissants at the hotel Costa the next day. I can't fault it. The attention to security for women travelling alone is also reassuring. Would definitely recommend.

What a great budget hotel. I think this hotel is quite new as everything appeared new. Very friendly and helpful staff. Wouldnt normally use onsite resturant at a premier, due to poor weather we decided to eat here and WOW what a great menu and quality food. Iv`e been to York before and stayed in dearer hotels..... Never again A+ for this one.

Walk to anywhere in York city centre from this hotel. Young staff very helpful and happy. Housekeeping helpful and pleasant. no complaints whatsoever. Had a lovely sightseeing trip and would recommend this hotel highly. Historic York absolutely beautiful in the sunshine.

Having stayed in Premier Inns before we knew what to expect and we wern't disapointed. We arrived by train which is a 10 minute walk (max). We arrived at 11am and our room wasn't available till 2pm but the receptionist took our cases and locked them away so we could go and explore. The room was very big and spacious with everything you need for a weekend away.

The Longboat restaurant/pub is attached and serves gorgeous food at not bad prices. That is also where you have breakfast and it can get quite busy!!

The hotel is just outside Micklegate and is very easy to find your way around.

We had a lovely 2 night stay over Easter and have already booked a trip to London in July again staying in a Premier Inn.

Room Tip: Pre book a table for dinner!!!!!

This hotel is about quarter of a mile from station. Easily found and spotlessly clean. Easy access into city either by city walls close by or walking along river-a little further on. Room spotlessly clean and service excellent, friendly and helpful. Would definitely return. Breakfast for £5.25 really good value and kids eat free. Dinner perhaps not so much choice with six of us being vegetarian and staying during a menu change. Restaurant manager soon solved problem for us. My only advice is be prepared to be woken at 7am by a loud generator noise if staying at the back of the hotel, and car sirens all through the night if on the front roadside. They really need effective double glazing. As we had two under fours who were early risers it did not spoil our stay.

Room Tip: look at dinner & breaast offer.

This hotel is situated about 4 minutes from York train station - don't take a car to York, waste of time and £14 a day parking on average!
Easy to get to but first impression was not great. Situated on a busy road in a SLIGHTLY run down area of York. However, once inside the hotel was met by a very friendly receptionist and check in was quick and efficient. Room was at front of hotel so feared the worst but at least we had the "good night guarantee".
However, stayed three nights and had a good nights sleep for each of them which I think is a record. Staff continued to be excellent and attentive, even when busy. Had the breakfast which is an absolute steal if you have children. £7.99 per adult and up to 2 children each, working out at £2.xx each. The hotel is situated at one of the walls gates (Mickelgate) and if you head right (as you look at the gate from the Premier inn) you will be at the main town centre in less than 15 minutes even with two young children in tow.

For comfort, convenience etc I couldn't rate this hotel highly enough and it even beats some of the Hilton's I have stayed in (e.g. York which was incredibly noisy with wedding parties)

i will definitely be returning and if they brought out a loyalty card (or even better a loyalty credit card-like Hilton) then I woudl probably have more weekends away.
