Owner description: The Ghostwalk was established before 1973 and was an original creation believed to be the first in the world. We promise a unique opportunity to discover the hidden magic of our ancient City through the real art of storytelling. Tales are drawn from the immense history of York and are told against a backdrop of haunting beauty. We walk in the very footsteps of those who have passed before.

“Haunting Walk of York”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

A well spent £10 for two for a 90min Boxing Night haunting Original Ghost Walk of York: The narrator, Mark Graham had a good story-telling voice and imparted his historical and spooky stories well, keeping the small group entertained. Mark has some good locations to stop and tell his stories.

“Ghost walk”
Reviewed December 6, 2013

A fun way to spend 1 1/4 hours in the evening. The story teller was very good at bringing atmosphere to the tour and setting the scene. The walk isn't scary just a history lesson about the lovely city of York. Our tour guide walked very quickly and at times it felt like a school trip with 50 or so people trying to keep up with him! Overall, a great way to see parts of York that could easily be missed.

“Very pleased with this walk”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

We did this walk after failing to be amused by the one the previous evening. This one started at the kings arms pub, our guide was really well informed about the local history. And very good at his job. He told his stories very well and kept all the party interested. No silly games and gimmicks just well told histories. I would certainly do this walk again. It is also suitable for wheelchairs. With every consideration given.

“The City By Night”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

Great way to see the city of York at night. Some of the stories are fantastic - all claim to be true however I am a little skeptical about that bit! Still, the storyteller really adds to the atmosphere of the setting and really engages with the audience! Suitable for all and a good way to see some of the areas of York you may miss on your own travels!

“Cold Dark Night”
Reviewed November 5, 2013

Our family of four meet with the guide on a cold dark night...perfect for a ghost walk! A large group assembled, our friendly guide made sure that children and our wheelchair user were at the front of the crowd. He quickly built up an atmosphere and our tour began. He delivered a selection of ghost stories and intertwined with local history. We found the tour interesting, got to see parts of the city we may not have otherwise visited and not too scary for younger members of our group. Overall, I would say it's worth doing the tour but do not expect theme park style dramatics.
