Came to stay for a two night weekend. Was a little disappointed with first room as not like the website but Jason was very helpful and soon rectified this for us :-). Jason let us check in early and gave us a parking permit for the whole weekend. Very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Breakfast lovely.

Stayed her for 2 nights booked on last minute.com so wasn't sure what it would be like when we turned up. We were pleasantly surprised, bed comfy, room and en suite very clean. Didn't have breakfast either morning as me and my boyfriend are not early risers. Short distance from centre and easy to find. Would definitely stay here again when we go back to york.

Stayed here for 2 days including new years eve.
We were pretty disappointed overall here as it was not anywhere near as nice as described.
The room was of reasonale size but we found the bed and pillows very hard, accepted that's personal choice though.
Our bathroom was seperate to the room being the other side of a corridor. The shower was lethal, either scalding hot or freezing cold. Clearly its dangerous. The hot tap on the sink did not work at all . The toilet was jammed between a bath and hot radiator, the space too small to actually sit on the toilet.
Breakfast was reasonable but the dining room is small and the chairs are ridiculously large so that its impossible to get out once you sit down.
The wifi worked fine for us
I would not return

Room Tip: Dont pick room 2

Booked a single room for one night for a very reasonable price. On arriving I was upgraded to a double room which was a pleasant surprise. The room was clean and tastefully decorated with a modern shower room. Linen and towels all outsourced ensuring white cleanliness. I slept well. Breakfast was served quickly and I found it to be of excellent quality especially considering the price I paid. I would stay here again.

On another note, I found the "beware of the ghost" review absolutely hilarious - what ridiculous comments made tv that reviewer.

Thanks for a great stay in York!

Visiting York for the NRM, this guest house was within easy reach and provided a comfy bed for the night. In the absence of evening meals, the very nearby Churchill Hotel's piano bar was a great place for dinner. The only downside was the very weak WiFi signal in the room, but I good get a connection in the breakfast room.

Room Tip: Despite secondary double glazing, rooms overlooking the main road do suffer from some traffic noise.

Nicely decorated, cozy, quiet place.
Breaksfast options are enough and tasty.
The ownser are nice people and we were helped and advised in all we needed.

Rooms have not many space for big luggage, specially the 3 people room.
However, it is close to city center, just a nie short walt to the walls.

The location is very good, it is an easy walk into York. It is hard to find as it is just a doorway. The room was up a lot of flights of stairs and it was very small but clean. We had problems finding room to place our suitcases. It advertises free wi fi, which it is, but it was impossible to get it in our room. To access it you had to go to the dining room. The dining room, where you have breakfast is too small for the amount of guests. The kitchen staff were very friendly and obliging. The breakfast was good and plentiful.
