Had a really good meal here on Saturday evening. We had 3 children with us and the kids menu was very good with homemade food choices at only £4.50 including a drink plus £1.50 for ice cream. My son is 12 and has a huge appetite but after us all sharing a plate of nachos he was unable to finish his kids meal as the portions are generous. The adult portions are very generous and very good quality - the nachos, burgers and spicy chicken tower sandwich were excellent. We booked a table and were seated immediately but many people who hadn't booked who came in either had a long wait or had to leave. The atmosphere was lively and buzzing but not rowdy and the staff very attentive . I would definitely recommend.

We wanted something quickish for lunch and just about got a table at Oscars (Saturday just after 12pm). The place was packed but everyone seemed to get their meals pretty speedily. We were served quickly and by friendly enough staff. After looking at the size of the meals we decided we just wanted to share the nachos and were pleased we did as they were massive, I couldn't have eaten one plate by itself, even as a main. There was a nice vibe and staff were generally on hand all the time, despite it being really busy - there was almost a queue out of the door. We paid £20 and that included a tip (huge nachos and two glasses of red).

We visited today, had to wait a while for a table but the service was quick and efficient. Good selection of veggie meals. Chips are excellent! Prices aren't bad either.

We came to this restaurant on the recomendation of our sister, that is all 16 of us, which included 10 children. As there was so many of us we had called and agreed earlier a time to arrive. The staff could not do enough to accomadate our family. A table was set for us, drinks were ordered and with everyone within minutes. We have nothing but praise for this restaurant. We were welcomed and greeted by the professional manager and the outstanding chef who were very attentive. Very polite waiting staff provided menus, took our orders, and were available to explain anything we asked. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was relaxing and child friendly.
Now the best part the food! Wow the food was hot and lots of choice including a well thought out menu for children. All dishes arrived together and looked and smelt and tasted delicious. Everyone in our party and this included the children demolished what i have to say was the best meal I have ever eaten. Thanks to the chef who took time introduce herself and then come back and wish us well. Great value for the quality of the food its somewhere i suggest is a must when you go to york! Thankyou for making my sisters visit from New zealand a great experience.

Just had a weekend to York for the first visit. Hadn;'t booked anywhere for evening meal and so trawled the streets. Lots of places were busy and with queues.
Went into Oscars, which was busy, and were met by a very friendly and helpful 'maitre de' We had a drink at the bar whilst waiting for a table to come free.
The food was very good and plentiful and every plate I saw looked good.
Recommended.
