We have been to the Quayside many times; The reason? The fish batter is the lightest anywhere. the chips just right. The service is faultless, the staff quick, plus the cleanliness is spot on, when a table is vacated the bits are swept off the floor, the tables wiped clean.Even on very busy days there is only a very short wait but usually you get seated straight away. The restaurant is bright and you dont come out smelling of "fish &chips" and the loos are clean which is a good sign. The establishment has won awards but better still for the serial dieter amongst us, the food is low cal !

Went down to Whitbys' harbourside with our grandson, decided on a take out to sit in the sun. Being residents we chose the Quayside, well known family run resaurant top honours. Two cod and chips ordered, sat down by the harbour to enjoy. Very thin piece of fish in a lot of batter, and very dry tasteless chips. Oven chips would have been better. We did not enjoy the experience one bit. Others may disagree, but we can only speak as we found. Will not be going back.

We visited this restaurant on a lunchtime and the fish and chips were fantastic, we had a friendly young man serving us who was very professional and looked after us well, we had the Yorkshire special that included fish, chips, home made tartar sauce, mushy peas, bread and butter and a pot of tea, delicious high quality fish and chips,

Every aspect of the Haddock fish and chip meal was superb. The fish was the best ever tasted and so were the beautifully cooked chips. Even the mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce were gorgeous. It was also the accompaniments of local bakers Bothams bread and butter and a lovely pot of tea that all helped to make it memorable. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, so were the toilets, the staff were very polite and friendly. Highly recommended. Can't wait to go again.
