We spent an overnight at The Langley and it gave us everything we needed. A comfortable room and spotlessly clean shower room. The breakfast was ample and included local kippers (which were excellent). Robert was solicitous without being an overbearing host. Public parking close to the hotel was fairly easy, though in the high season it might be a problem. If we were to visit Whitby again for longer, we would go back to the Langley. Would we recommend it to friends? Yes

Faultless is one word to describe this wonderful hotel B and B. The room was very big and comfortable as was the bathroom. The entire hotel was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The breakfast was the best we have ever has in the UK and the staff who served were exceptional with their service. The hotel is very charming and in an excellent location. We booked for two nights but ended up staying for three and would have loved to stay longer if we had of had more time to spend in the area. We were on the 3rd floor but found the steps easy and we are in our mid 60's. It was very quiet and still close to the town area. Bob was an excellent host and made us feel very welcome. We would definately stay here again when we visit the area. In all this hotel is faultless and all we would say is if you visit Whitby or the Moors stay in "The Langley" You will love it!!

We a party of four were greatly surprised by this hotel. The rooms were big very clean (bathroom excellent) with a good sea view. Staff were friendly, breakfast was good and plentiful. Car parking is free on the street, town centre minutes away! The only downside is this hotel may not be suitable for the really elderly ie lots of stairs and no lift. The Langley is now our template for future hotel stays. L & S Chester

A very nice small private hotel, very much deserving of its five stars. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was large and well appointed with all the little extras well taken care of, plus. The bathroom was spotless with fully tiled walls and new suite with a brilliant shower cubicle.
The only downside to the less mobile would be the stairs of which there are plenty. I would certainly recommend breakfast which was very good, apart from the sausage. There was nothing wrong with it but I would suggest they change their supply to one with a bit more flavour. But there again, the fried bread was to die for and you can't have everything!
A very nice hotel. Book in and enjoy.

This is a great little private hotel in Whitby. Clean, neat and the people, Bob and Pam Stevens, that own and run it are very friendly and helpful. Great location right on the crescent and within easy walking distance from everything. Rooms are average sized to slightly larger than average for an English hotel. We would definetly stay here again.
